Thread [Q] Location wakelock problem - problem with all Androids or just Galaxy S2

I previously had a Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T (SGH-I777). I loved the phone, but whenever I enabled "Google location service" under "System Settings -> Location Services" by battery would drain very rapidly. Using BetterBatteryStats, I found that I was getting location wakelocks (I forget the...

Post [APP][4.4+] Greenify v3.6.2 Final (Updated on Aug. 25)

That's great to know, thanks! Looks like my phone just updated to that. That was an issue that I couldn't get around, unless I turned off Location Settings or Used Greenify on the Play Store.

Post [APP][4.4+] Greenify v3.6.2 Final (Updated on Aug. 25)

It seems to be that Google Play keeps using the Network Locator wakelocks. When I hibernate Play, these wakelocks are reduced drastically.

Actually, greenify is working well with maps now. I found that the issue is, when I'm running Greenify, and I toggle Location Services -> Use Wireless Networks to off, then back on, it never turns back on again. However, if I leave this setting on, or I reboot after doing the setting, then...

The maps issue has actually been present for a while in previous versions. I did do a full wipe though before installing this version. I may give greenify another try though, because I would really like to have maps functionality available without having to change my location settings every time.

Problems with stock messaging app I tried searching this forum but didn't find anything.... I just updated to 3.0.2 (late to the party, I know), and the Messaging app keeps crashing, and I'm not able to run it. It's not a huge deal, I was able to download Handcent, but wondering if anyone...

I agree. I've run many ROMs on the Captivate (Galaxy S) and Galaxy S2, and this is by far my favorite. Many ROMs have issues which are total show-stoppers (i.e. phone reboot when it rings), but I haven't had any issues with this one, and it has plenty of great features. So thanks to the...

I've been playing around with various settings. I found that just unchecking GPS will drastically reduce the wakelocks of Google Maps. Unclicking Location Services will do it as well (and reduce wakelocks to 0), but the GPS toggle is a little bit quicker to get to.

When someone does a full wipe to go to a new major version of this ROM, do you use Titanium Backup to restore System data? I heard that was a bad thing to do. I'd like to test out the newest ROM, it just takes a while to restore system settings without TiBu (i.e ringtone, GMail settings...

Boot Loop issue I tried to upgrade from 2.0.5 to 2.5.1. I downloaded the new ROM to my phone, booted into recovery, did a full wipe, then did an install. I got a bootloop that went as far as the SHOSTOCK3 screen. Tried this multiple times and kept getting a boot loop. Then, I plugged my...

    Post [APP][2.2+][05 Oct. - V2.4] BetterBatteryStats

Hi, I'm trying to use the Process Stats page. I look at Process over a 6 hour time period, and Dolphin Browser is at the top. Only it says that I've used it for something like 26 s, which seems really low (for user, or total, I don't remember, but the order of magnitude is around there). What...

Post [Q] How to undo ICS firmware update?

If I flash back to stock 2.3.4 (without root), will I be able to use the OTA updates to get back to 2.3.6? Or will there be a problem since I used Odin to get back to 2.3.4? Thanks. Edit: Sorry, didn't see post immediately above me.

Different folder icons Love the launcher, and don't want you to introduce anything that bogs it down. Something that may be nice to have is just a different folder icon. The manilla type folder icon - like the default launcher one - is just a little "blah". I'm not asking necessarily for a...

Great launcher. My phone runs so much more smoothly after running it. It's always important to listen to feedback, but don't let anyone try to change what Zeam is. If they want a bajillion options, they can use something else.

    Post {JVZ} Mosaic IX {The Family}{1/7/2012}

Has anyone reported Sleep of Death (SoD) issues with Mosaic IX? I ran 8, and was happy with it, but continued to get SoD issues, even with 3 different kernels. If not, I think I'll go back to it. I love running Apex, but keep it keeps freezing on me.

Hey, I'm really a big fan of this ROM, so thanks for your efforts. I had issues at first, but I reinstalled the ROM and this time did not restore system apps and data, just user apps, and it runs much, much better. Is there a way to install the Android Keyboard for 9.3? Thanks.

Android update to security flaw Google is updating Android to fix a security flaw. What does this mean for people with a custom ROM such as Serendipity? Is it up to the ROM makers to incorporate this same update into the ROM? Thanks.

Sorry if this is a dumb question; I'm somewhat new to this stuff. Is there a certain app I should use to install the apk? I tried using Installer app from ipop, but it simply says "Application not installed". It may be because it's a system level app and I don't think this Installer has root...

Undoing a mod I just wanted to say great work on the ROM and also the Mods Kitchen. I did have a question. I installed the Samsung MMS mod, but decided I liked the original better. What's the best way to "undo" this and go back to using the standard MMS? Thanks.
