You probably would not be able to just port over that app. But it might be possible to create the same effect by cropping the wide angle lens back to the same or slightly more than the standard camera. But that probably won't work too well, since you already have half the resolution on the wide...

Unfortunately on the H831 (Canadian variant), there's still no root yet, and the bootloader is locked. So no flashing CM.

Root shouldn't be hard, if we follow the same process as the H830. Get a TOT and repack it right. But, easier said than done.

It's the law (at least in Japan) that all cameras/phones have to have an unmutable shutter sound to deter upskirt pervs if I recall correctly.

Hey guys, my (launch batch) Note 4 is dead (most likely culprit: failed eMMC), but everything else is good in it. But I don't want to waste money fixing it (no service center in my area, have to ship it, my cost, no warranty) when I want to upgrade (possibly LG G5?). What do you recommend I do?

Factory reset the phone. I did it via TWRP to not wipe the internal SD. Nothing to do with the kernel.

My Gear 1 wouldn't work until I did a factory reset, with stock kernel. It's not the kernel, it continues to work now.

If you have or don't mind using xposed, there's a module called "App Settings" and you can set the DPI per app. So you can have the TW apps be the stock DPI while everything else your custom DPI. That's what I do.

You could also buy a completely new board. I believe Mustang Tim was recently offering his. It may or may not be still around to buy. But if you want to fix up this phone (in this manner) you can just pop in the replacement board.
