Agreed, that has been my normal method as well. With the failed reboot, I had lost everything anyway, so I decided to wipe everything and start completely from scratch. I was just reiterating exactly what I had done.

After wiping the phone, I removed the micro SD and used my PC to copy the ROM and Gapps files to it. Placed the microSD back into the phone and then booted into recovery to install. Hope that helps.

I was on AICP Nougat when my phone bootlooped and wouldn't recover. I wiped everything, including the SD card (make sure you back up anything like pics, sms, video, etc. to PC or other device). I then flashed this RR and Gapps and have no issues.
