Thread G3 Stuck on AT&T Logo on Boot Up

My wife's phone is stuck on the AT&T screen when booting. I am able to get into download mode, but am unsure of what to do next. I've downloaded the PC Suite and Mobile Support Tool (which seems to be more recent) from LG but in both cases when I do the update recovery I can't get it to work...

Thread HELP! McAfee thinks my phone is rooted and locked me out

So a little background first. Over the past couple of weeks I've been having an issue where my phone just all of a sudden tells me that my sim is not recognized. Usually a power down and back up fixes it, but it's been getting worse and worse. I tried getting a new sim card but that didn't...

    Post [Q] Charging port repair

I didn't think until last night to check the waranty, I was thinking it was 90 days but it turns out I'm still covered. I got my RMA and need to send it in. Did you have all your data still on it when you got it back? I'm trying to figure out how to do a backup and get the data off of it just...

    Thread [Q] Charging port repair

All of a sudden my Prime won't charge unless the plug is held in a very specific way. I think I must have a charging port issue (I've tried to cables). Is this something that is repairable, and would it have to go back to Asus to get done? I'm also curious if anyone might know what an...

Post Best practice for storing configurations

Ok, cool. That's one of the options I had considered but didn't know if that would be the most efficient. Of course I'd also have to have a list of all the "Widget ID's" stored in a preference to loop through as well. I assume the maximum amount of data that can be stored in one prefrence is...

Post Best practice for storing configurations

SharedPrefrences is what I used for my basic version, but my understanding is that it allows for name-value pairs right? That works well when you have a predetermined set of prefrences, but what if it's more fluid? Say I want to allow the user to configure his widgits, and each widget has a...

Thread Best practice for storing configurations

Hello everyone, I'm new to Android development. I've written my first little "get my feet wet" ap and am looking to expand on it. One thing I would like to do it give the user more options of things they can configure and I'm wondering about the best way to store that information. At what...

Thread Develoopment - Testing on the Captivate

I'm getting into Android development and am having a problem testing what I'm working on on my Captivate. My understanding is that if my phone is attached in debug mode and I run, it should go do my phone but it always goes to the emulator. I've done some reading about an adb driver, so I'm...

Post [Q] Nook stuck in reset loop

I've tried it several different ways, including holding the n button down until it has completely booted up. I did find some instructions for using the clockwork mod recovery to flash the original files and am in the process of working through that.

Post [Q] Nook stuck in reset loop

Ok, it's been a while since I've had a chance to look at this (and since the pad works with my CM7 boot card it's not been a priority). I have this to restore to stock: http://nookcolorrooting.com/RestoretoStock.aspx, but when I get to the 2nd step booting with the n key held in doesn't seem...

Thread [Q] Nook stuck in reset loop

I have a rooted, but otherwise stock nook that I was having trouble installing apps from the amazon appstore on. I was trying to find some settings to fix this when all of a sudden it said something about an "authorization error" and reset. When it came back up, it was resetting data and I had...

Post What's the status on rooting 1.4

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by "NM 1.3". Do you mean ManualNooter working on nook 1.3 software? I never got that working, and now my nook is at 1.4, so I think I'll just proceed with trying to get the root on 1.4.

Post What's the status on rooting 1.4

So that's the only file needed, not two like with 1.3? All I would do then is put that on my bootable sd card, boot up to it, execute that zip, and then boot the nook without a the card?

Thread What's the status on rooting 1.4

I tried to catch up over on the Development board, but I'm totally lost (coming here at all ususally makes me feel like the dropout delivering a pizza to a MENSA mixer). What is the status on rooting version 1.4.1? I'd like to update my software and get it rooted as opposed to booting off the...

Post [Q] Newbie to CM7 - stupid questions

Not sure exactly, other than I thought it was the most recent. The nook is as home so I can't check right now. I'm not seeing that message, but I'll look more closely. I did see your post on that subject, but am kind of thinking that the aps he'll want right now may not require that. I'll...

Thread [Q] Newbie to CM7 - stupid questions

Hello all, I've got an SD card I'm booting CM7 off of. I've got the Market installed, and linked to my Google account. I'm not finding, though, most of the aps that I have on my phone. Did I miss something in my setup so that I'm not seeing all my aps?

Post [Q] Trying to make bootable CM7 card....what did I do wrong?

It appears this was my problem. I was using "write disk" rather than the restore option. I now appear to have CM7 on the card (althought it's been on the bootup screen for a while, and I now need to get the gapps installed.

Post [Q] Trying to make bootable CM7 card....what did I do wrong?

Post [Q] Trying to make bootable CM7 card....what did I do wrong?

As I think back through the process, the only thing I was a bit confused on was the generic image. After downloading it, I expanded it out using winrar before writting it to the SD card with winimage. Was that the right thing to do?

I'm trying to create a bootable SD card with CM7. I followed the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957. I've put the CM7 file on the card, but when I put in in my nook and boot it just goes to the nook software. Can anyone help me with what I did wrong...

    Post Now I'm REALLY confused

I think I saw that. I'll take a closer look, but to be honest right now I think my son will be be more likely to use the the straight Android boot to have access to the games he's always playing on my phone. I'm hoping that will change, but as this point I'm thinking I'm better off waiting...

That's my long term goal. but is the root on 1.4 working yet? I tried to do the MN root (but may have missed a step) on 1.3 and got into a boot cycle. I was thinking I'd just let it upgrade then once all the 1.4 stuff was figured out do a root then

Ok, cool. So it sounds like my plan for now is to get 1.4 then boot off of an SD card. When and if we can root it successfully, I'll make that jump. I asked this in another thread, but I'll do so hear as well. What happens to apps I download while booted from the card? Are they installed on...

Post [Q] Best approach for rooting a 1.3

That's prettyf much exacty what I've settled on. I think for now, he'd mostly want the tablet, but I DO really like the read to me feature. I'll just have to teach him how to boot back and forth if he wants (he's pretty sharp for a mildly autistic 7 year old when it comes to tech). When and...

    Thread Now I'm REALLY confused

Ok, the more reading I do the more confused I get. I have a nook 1.3 that I bought for my son. The reason I chose the nook was because I could put the market on it and give him the games he's always playing on my phone. I'd LIKE to keep the stock reader as well because he's only 7 and I like...

I have a brand new nook that is running 1.3, and I want to get it rooted (it's a Christmas gift for my son). With 1.4 out now, I'm wondering what my best approach is. Should I wait until I get the 1.4 update and then to the root? If that is the case, is there a way to force the update to come...
