U should have adb tools, latest Motorola drivers installed in ur PC and use rsd lite to flash the downloaded sbf file...

Yeah, taking an OTA after rooting and installing Custom Recovery makes ur X a near brick (well, atleast soft brick). I experienced that when i took an OTA after rooting 161.44.34... Better to flash the stock, take OTA, then root it again... Sent from my Moto X...
