Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

Actually, i wrote "Tested only on kitkat and below" but it should read as "Working only on kitkat and below" as 1+ has locked NV write ability and rmt_storage patch was a file from old version from before they patch NV... File witch, just in case, changed drastically in later android versions

Post [App] [7.0+] Access Dots - iOS 14's camera/microphone access indicators for Android!

just like energy bar (good alternative to TEAM battery bar btw), the only way for me to install it is to use alternative store or apk, on play, it shows app as incompatible for my 1+1 and LOS 15.1 (android 8.1)

the "patch" was actually an old version of the file from before cyanogen team add the "reset nv values at boot" functionnality. see the commit witch add this "functionnality" if you have sources for your model and plan to edit and build your own version...

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

maybe... an unlocked band can properly work only if it's supported by the hardware (especially true for the 700MHz band where it need a different antenna)

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

As yakapa40 shown on his screenshot, the value is corresponding to the result of the list of bands in binary, translated in decimal. For example, decimal "517" in binary would be "1000000101" meaning having LTE bands 1, 3 and 10 because when reading from the right, the 1st, 3rd, and 10th digits...

If you have this problem with your 2g/3g/4g connection, you need to be root and have a terminal app: in terminal, get root privilege: su then check your actual DNS: getprop | grep dns check for these lines: [net.dns1]: [whatever] [net.dns2]: [1.2.3.4] To get rid of the dns probe finish bad...

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

Lower frequency bands require physically larger antennas, especially below 1GHz where the impact of antenna size is felt the most. The antenna in our 1+1 is just not good enough for these frequencies...

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

LTE 800 (and 700 btw) requires a different antenna than LTE 1200+ or 2G/3G so even if chip and AMP support band 20 and we enable it's use in QXDM, we won't be able to get any signal since there's no antenna to receive it properly.

Nope, 1+2 is an x64 system so current rmt_storage patch does not works, also, there is the problem of the modem diag mode access that has been locked since lolli.

values restoring themselves are a déjà-vu: NV write ability restrained and the found solution. My guess is that it can be retrieved using either IMEI or an hidden value in modem fw. Anyway, nice work!

some reported better coverage (like going from 2 to 3 bars or getting signal on places they didn't had previously) but if you're good as is, don't change since your phone can brick if anything goes wrong during manipulations.

Haha! I'm glad you found it usefull (and hopefully worth the beers I drank ;) ) Actually both: hardware limitations as lack of antennas for some specific bands and software limitations because of laws in China and some other things of the same ilk. But because chinese 1+1 was made mainly for...

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

well, that's kind of extreme but still feasable, yes. But one need to check LTE12 coverage before doing this... It would be a waste to do it in an area with no LTE12 coverage in the first place (^_^; ) edit: OK, thanks for the report. I'll update the list in addendum.

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

How to know if band 12 is available: 1) check your operator coverage map to see if there is a place with band 12 only. 2) go there and check if your phone connect on LTE (may not be instant) 3) report any attempt here along with your provider, the place you tried and your result.

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

OPO support natively LTE Bands 1/3/4/7/17/38/40 DOCOMO's LTE bands are 800 (band 19) 1500 (band 21) 1800 (band 3) and 2100 (band 1). So 2100 is supported natively by 1+1 and 1700 (band 9) is a subset of band 3 and should be supported natively too.

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

I don't believe root is needed but you might need to change recovery for something with backup / install functions like TWRP rmt_storage patch is needed on 1+1 phones only (to prevent NV recovery on next boot) and is very likely different for every phone. Your only hope is to download and...

  31. Albirew

Post [GUIDE] UNLOCK ADITIONAL BANDS FOR QUALCOMM DEVICES <OnePlus One EDITION>

Yes. unlocked 1+1 doesn't seems to get any LTE signal in LTE20 only zone so it's very likely a lack of antenna since chip does support band 20.

Post [WIP] Enable additional 3G / LTE Band on YU Yureka

If it's the same as the 1+1, replacing /system/bin/rmt_storage with a version not locked would prevent nv recovery (do you know if NV values were sticking in an older version? If so, take it's rmt_storage and try to replace current one with older one, I think it's worth trying)
