imho 99% sure, it still will fail, the partition does not just have to be semantically unchanged it must be 1:1 bit wise identical with what is expected.

On the Open Beta 12 the GPS is better, it gets a fix and does not go into a state where the device needs a reboot. But it looses the fix often as long as the data connectin is not limited to 2g

I had the same issues described here with every N based rom I tryed (OOS and LineageOS), while with the last MM community build GPS works great. So I think that its a HW issue ( and also if it sees the satelites ...) to it must be some strange software problem. May be some devs shoudl compare...
