If there were a way to root Marmshmallow, I would take the big bold red text off of the very first part of the original post where I answer the question about rooting Marshmallow and replace it with instructions on how to do so.

If you upgrade any software, you will lose root and xposed. If you upgrade to H81210N you can just reinject/flash root and flashfire xposed back onto the device. If you upgrade to Marshmallow H81220E you will lose root and xposed permanently.
