After a couple of days bricking around, finally found a way to have all the goodies and still have full device encryption. Something that isn't working with custom recovery installed. Short guide: 1. Stock ROM 5.1.1 2. Encrypt device first (!) 3. Root using Kingroot...

Another confirm working root. Working with supersume btw (see playstore). Now on SuperSU instead of kingoroot. Finally root + full device encryption :)

Back screen broke by itself, after 2 weeks repair, I got what looks like a brand new phone. Complete new chassis and screen (noticably less blue), emei checked out, probably the same internals. Well happy with after service.

Old thread, but wanted everybody to find out about Snakehive cases. Leather and wood, good quality stylish and affordable (rare combination) and compatible with the magnector cables.

Encryption on the stock works perfectly. The only reason I and probably a bunch of other people stick around without root.

How is full device encryption doing? Still creating endless bootloops?

Anyone tried this method or found another way to achieve root + encryption? It's the only thing keeping me from rooting again.

Also had encryption, pattern lock and pin don't work. Had to revert to full stock to retrieve security updates and full device encryption.

Is full encryption available now? The first rooted lollipop got into bootloop. I want recovery, encryption, root and if possible xposed. I don't like my device unencrypted in case I lose it.

I use Google Camera and Google+ Photo's with auto-enhance. Can you do some comparisons with these functions? Maybe better to get other binaries working like iphone, htc m9, etc. They have the same camera but better processing management?

I don't know where you are looking.. It's just a cfg-file. Go to the directory 'etc' from your root directory, system to etc. Select the cfg and choose 'open in text editor' .. There is truly no zipping or decompiling..

No need for decompiling. Just open as text in root explorer, change the number, save and reboot. Can't get much easier than that.

Clear+ It was better with viper4android, but have to figure out how to get it back on lollipop.

Confirmed not working anymore on 5.0.2. The block/unblock command isn't recognized anymore.

I understand you're glad to fixed the bootloop. On the other hand the issue itself isn't fixed. I believe encryption to be very valuable and I really want it to be fixed. Anybody else has any ideas or succes combing root & encryption?

I was hoping by adding step 4, it would be possible the encrypt device. Sadly it still creates a bootloop.

Since recovery is broken and have bootloop with encryption, I wonder if an OTA update would softbrick it..

Is there a way to disable the parameter for disabeling the charging led without xposed? Xposed for lollipop isn't availible yet, and like to sleep again at night :)

Quick question. Since recovery on xperia z line isn't possible for now, flashing xposed framework isn't an option. What parameters are tinkered to disable the charging led by gravitybox? Love to make a mod for this issue because the strong leds are a big annoyance for many people.

Root solved the issue trough gravitybox. Now lollipop screwed it up again (no xposed framework). Need to know what parameters I have to change to disable it

Confirmed NOT working on Z3 compact android 5.0.2. The backlite of the lcd goes bananas. Although the same parameter can be tinkered in the same file. So need zips to flash on 5.0.2... Edit: since you lose recovery, it might be easier to manually change it trough root explorer.

Does installing viper4android remove the drivers? I installed the mod, didn't notice much of a difference. But it works..

I remember the moto x having a separate processor to always listen without drainage of the battery. With screen on, I have already 6% extra usage. I would not prefer this option

I have the same situation. Can't even enter recovery. You can copy paste files from the zip in the system with for example root explorer, set the correct permissions and reboot. A working recovery would be better.
