    Post [EOL][ROM][7.1.2_r36][UNOFFICIAL]LineageOS 14.1 [08 Sep 2019]

You don't need to ask the developer for a new release. He's already said he intends to keep up with monthly releases, as much as he can. I would imagine you could flash these unofficial builds over last official (dirty), but I would recommend clean flashing just to be safe.

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 14.1

You can use the ElementalX kernel in this ROM, but it is not officially supported to do so, either by sgspluss, or by the EX developer himself (since he has moved on to only supporting stock firmware on our device). Therefore, if you run into any issues, it will be unlikely that you will get any...

Post [ROM][8.1.0][OFFICIAL][XT16xx] OmniROM for Moto G4/Plus [Athene]

Could you please indicate what you mean by "not as mighty as Nougat" when it comes to the standby drain? On LOS 14.1 I was getting 1.1-1,7%/hr standby drain recently, while when I tried Oreo ROMs awhile ago, I would get 3.5-5.5%/hr drain, unless the system was placed in Airplane Mode.

Yes, Magisk works. If you need it for some particular reason (modules, hiding root to pass SafetyNet or run apps such as Pokemon Go or Snapchat), then you should be able to flash it and have it work without any issues.

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 14.1

I had no luck getting the signature spoofing patcher to work with LineageOS 15.1, as it requires a deodexed ROM to work, and LineageOS 15.1 builds seem to come odexed by default now. So you could still install microG, but much functionality would not work properly, if at all.

microG Installation Instructions Seeing as there has been some interest in the exact procedure I used to get microG working on this ROM, I've decided to post for posterity the steps I used, so that others may attempt this endeavor if they are so inclined. Post [Discontinued]-[ROM]-[Official]-[12-08-2018]-Havoc-OS-[8.1.0]

How is the standby battery drain on this ROM? On LOS 14.1 I have about 0.6-1.1%/hr, but on the majority of Oreo ROMs I've tried, with the sole exception of DotOS (which happens to have had bad heating issues for me), the standby drain has been anywhere from 3.5-5.5%/hr, even with Wi-Fi, 3G/4G...

Have you been using any battery-saving modifications such as AKT, L Speed, Spectrum, or Greenify. If you've been managing this great battery life without any such mods, I'll happily give this ROM another try once the next build is released.

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 14.1

If anyone is interested I can post how I installed microG on top of this ROM. I am using such a setup myself and am very happy with it. I have sgspluss's super stable Nougat ROM along with microG, allowing me to use many applications without requiring the tether to Google that is the Play...

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 14.1

I understand if it can't be high on your priority list right now, and I can manually install microG after patching the ROM for signature spoofing and then installing the relevant APKs myself, but it would be very convenient to have this available as a ROM option. In any case, all the microG team...

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 14.1

sgspluss: would it be possible for you to at some point make a "LineageOS for microG" version of your ROM, or at least one with signature spoofing allowed? It would be great to have a Google-less ROM with your ROM's incredible stability.

    Post [EOL][ALPHA][ROM][8.1.0_r14]Candy8.1 [athene][18 Feb 2018]

Can you give an estimate to about how much percent you lose per hour when the phone is in standby? On the unofficial LineageOS 14.1 made by sgspluss, I get about 0.6-1.1%/hr standby drain. I would like to be able to attain a comparable standby drain on an Oreo ROM, as I believe that Oreo has...

    Post [ROM][8.1.0][32bit][athene] Unofficial LineageOS 15.1

How are the heating and standby drain on this ROM at this point in time? Last time I tried flashing the ROM, the SOT was quite good (about ~5.5 hours for me), but during standby, the device would get quite warm, and the battery would start draining rather rapidly (about ~3.5-5%/hr) unless the...

Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][32 BIT] DOT OS 2.XX

How is the heating and overall system temperaure on this ROM? I have seen that some users have managed to get a standby drain of 1.0<%/hr, but in a lot of Oreo ROMs I have tried, the heating, compared to Nougat, has been quite significant.

How is the standby battery drain on this ROM? On almost all Oreo ROMs I have tried so far, the average standby drain for me has been about 3.5-5%/hr, even with mobile data turned off. If this ROM has decent standby battery drain, that, combined with its reportedly low system temperatures, would...

Post Discussion : Most stable oreo ROM right now

How is the heating compared to RR 6.0.0 or LOS 15.1? On both, for me, the device would at times become very hot and uncomfortable to the touch. I had much better overall system temperatures with CandyROM, and was wondering how this ROM compares to it in that area.

Post Discussion : Most stable oreo ROM right now

Could you tell me if this excellent battery life extends to standby drain as well? On every Oreo ROM that I've tried, I've gotten a standby drain of about 3.5-5%/hr, even with mobile data turned off. On LOS 14.1, I get about 0.6-1.1%/hr standby drain. Also, which AKT profile are you using?

You need the contents of /sys/fs/pstore . The messages here are error messages dumped by the kernel upon panicking (IIRC). If you could please upload the files there, it might give sgspluss an idea what happened.

    Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][7.1.2][athene] AOKP-ROM - Moto G4/G4 Plus | OMS/Substratum

I have only set Power saving mode under Settings -> Battery. I'm not one that tends to game on his phone, so it doesn't feel too slow. I also don't have either GApps or microG installed, so that may have an effect on the battery life as well.

I didn't really have problems with the cores not going down in speed when using the Battery profile in Spectrum (aka the Glassfish profile). You could try selecting that and see if the cores ramp down more fully, since Glassfish is supposed to be more aggressive with lower frequencies.

    Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][7.1.2][athene] AOKP-ROM - Moto G4/G4 Plus | OMS/Substratum

There are still nightly builds of AOKP. The only thing that seemed to have been held back last time I checked was the March security patches. Other than that, everything else seems to be normal, with the same excellent battery life (routinely 5.5-6 hours for me) and same great stability (as of...

I believe Jleeblanch was mulling the idea of putting out a build with the February patches when they were released, but nothing certain. What I know is if that happens that's what I'll stay with while I wait for a 32-bit RR 8.1 build.

About the battery drain, you could try downloading the Spectrum APK and the descriptions file. When I apply the battery saving profile in Spectrum I pretty consistently get a minimum of 5.5-6 hours of SOT, with medium usage. This is one of the best totals I have gotten with any ROM on our device...

IDK how Google Cloud Messaging being disabled would affect the Play Store since I always turn it on. I would advise that you also turn it on, just to be safe. But yes, once you flash the signature spoofer, you should be good to go. And also, the nanomod-patcher ZIP is indeed the right one.

You don't need an Xposed module. Setialpha also makes an excellent signature spoofing patcher that AFAIK is available to download from the same folder on AFH as his NanoMod ZIPs. You just flash it after you flash the NanoMod ZIP of your choice and then all signature spoofing-related things...

And I can confirm as well. Tested with signature spoofing patcher (ResurrectionRemix v5.8.5), and without (crDroid v3.8.3, native signature spoofing).
