Thanks, finally got it to work by downloading the newest SPFT from UMi (5.1628), using Format & Flash in SPFT and trying almost every USB port on my computer. Finally got 0810 to flash after unplugging other USB devices and everything's working okay now.

I don't think that's the case; I have a Rogers-based phone and also have to do a battery pull most of the time. A lot of people have talked about it, but we haven't seemed to have been able to pinpoint an exact cause, nevermind a definitive solution.

You guys do realize this is a 3rd party ROM made by Meizu for their phones, right? It's just been ported to our device, and it looks like G3 development may have stopped, as it's many versions behind now. Perhaps OP can confirm.
