    Post Bluez? PA?

....should I? This makes very good sense. While I think the PA 4.0 changeligs from July or so may acknowledge this lack they also seem to indicate it's been addressed. Would you mind looking? Not positive I'm reading it right. -Mike

    Post Bluez? PA?

I assume you mean the first one, the blog on the initial port? Well, I believe that may have changed since then. The actual port homepage at freedesktop.org (the second link I provided) says this: ...[T]ested on Samsung/Google Galaxy Nexus as ... reference implementation... [P]ort fairly...

    Post Bluez? PA?

Wow, man! Thanks very much indeed for replying with honesty and humility. I'm very pleased that I didn't, or at least I hope I did not. Even if you had said otherwise I would have fully understood, of course, but as it is, I'm also very impressed. I like discussion. Thanks, man. Two questions...

    Post Bluez? PA?

Maybe that's true, but if you asked me I'd probably lean the other way and say instead that Ubuntu is in too many places. Honestly, PA is really not complicated if you consider it a suite of core sound apps as opposed to a single, cohesive application. Probably my biggest gripe with Ubuntu's...

    Post Bluez? PA?

Wow. Strong words. You consider PulseAudio an existential bane, huh? Can I ask what sound daemon you use instead? I suppose it's possible you do without. Though it seems OSS is entirely deprecated, ALSA can still provide minimal functionality without a user-space management daemon if necessary...

    Post Bluez? PA?

But the existing Bluetooth stack is Android specific, whereas Bluez is a standard Linux component. It's also just recently made itself more Android friendly and (arguably) provides a better documented, more standardized interface. The same can be said of PulseAudio versus Android's sound daemon...

    Thread Bluez? PA?

I've got a question... Any plans to implement the new Android-friendly Bluez stack recently rolled out? Seems it would fit with your open-source goals pretty nicely, while also providing enhanced functionality over the status quo... Sometime last year there were several reports of a successful...

    Post Build script for 'Nightlies'

You also just provided me with: 1) Verification of an operable {SHELL} compatible shell. 2) Your server's IP. 3) A good indicator that your server accepts SSH AND SFTP connections at the port {PORT#}. 4) Verification that your SSH server accepts "{USER-NAME}" logins. 5) Pretty solid evidence...

Post Take that multi-touch! Fix and lock in what works for YOU regardless of updates

I have them both. I ordered the new one the day it was released on Amazon - I guess a couple days before Google's Play Store. I bought it specifically for video-out, but it is definitely noticeably faster and more capable in pretty much every way. I didn't have any touch screen issues until...

Post Take that multi-touch! Fix and lock in what works for YOU regardless of updates

Ditto that, especially considering the touchscreen patch firmware developer seems to believe it should be good to go after reboot #2, or at least he did on page 1 of this thread. I managed to get 6 or so pages in before skipping to the end... Any very helpful info between there and here you...

Post Auto Mount SMB shares when connected to WiFi with Tasker + Execute + scripts

To be honest, I completely forgot I ever wrote this. Still, the unmount issue could be due to your busybox version. Have you tried executing the relevant commands at a root enabled terminal? Do they work there? Moreover, you should understand that I apparently wrote this to be completely...

    Post Virtuous Unity Q&A

I'll be flashing this ROM tomorrow I believe. I'm doing a little research about the radios right now. According to install instructions for this rom the preferred radio is 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2. I see something EXTREMELY similar in the radio thread but it's listed as...

Post Nothing happens when I flash anything

Arrgh! The problem is RomManager's CWM. You actually CAN get it to flash things if you go into "mounts and storage" and mount /system and /data and all of that but DON'T. It will not work out well because it can not properly wipe system and you will wind up with a wifi kernel version mismatch...

Post Clueless what to do next?

This exact same thing happened to me. Made me really nervous and I wound up rolling back to stock and rerooting - all unnecessarily. All you need to do is put the Tiamat recovery back on, wipe your data (yes, everything on your internal storage, so make a backup), and install Tiamat 1.1 from an...

Post Relock US Xoom Tiamat 1.4.4 resulted in hanging at Motorola logo

DeeJay - dunno if you've done this already, but if you haven't you should go back to the Tiamat 1.1 thread and find the Modpack. It fixes the Market update issue and gives you built-in screenshot capabilities and an option to reboot into recovery from the power off menu. It's in there - you just...

    Post [Q] Dalvik/Chache/User data wipe?

Sorry guys. I was way off. I was even smug about it. Well, as it turns out, you do need an SD card. Check out my post here to see what happened (a lot of dumb bad stuff): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152121

Post [Q] WiFi Xoom sdcard fix?

You don't need to do all of that stuff. You need two files and an SD card. First get the .img file (NOT the zip) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979. Then get the Tiamat 1.1 ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146153. Put the ROM .zip...

Post Relock US Xoom Tiamat 1.4.4 resulted in hanging at Motorola logo

It worked? Great that's excellent news. Just out of curiosity - did you get there because you had ROMManager's ClockWorkMod? Or maybe you didn't do a full wipe before flashing a new rom? Or maybe you restored some WiFi settings with Titanium Backup after a new flash? How did you wind up with...

Post Relock US Xoom Tiamat 1.4.4 resulted in hanging at Motorola logo

So you have gone as far as the "fastboot erase cache" and "fastboot oem lock" right? This is kind of funny because I tried to install Tiamat 1.1 ROM tonight and ended up going through this HUGE loop of problems. Here's the problem I had: some time ago I installed ROMManager from the market. I...

    Post [Q] Dalvik/Chache/User data wipe?

Nope Ok, so, like I thought, the "wipe data/factory reset" option in ClockWorkMod Recovery does NOT format the /sdcard/ partition, even though it is actually physically located on the internal storage. Because of this I was also able to use the internal storage to store the tiamat*.zip rom...

    Post Samba mapper & browser

I just posted a thread about scripting auto mounts here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151949 You'll need Tiamat's kernel with the cifs.no kernel module. You can also use CIFSManager or Mount Manager (both are in the market) but I wasn't satisfied with either and I explain...

Thread Auto Mount SMB shares when connected to WiFi with Tasker + Execute + scripts

So I've really grown to like having my local SMB shares from my media server mounted to my Xoom so that I can stream video and/or music or whatever on the fly. I don't like the mountpoints getting all messed up when I leave the network though, and I had less than stellar experiences with both...

    Post [Q] Dalvik/Chache/User data wipe?

Just to be certain... Ok, but to be clear, I don't actually HAVE an sdcard, just the bigass bit of internal memory mounted AS /sdcard/. It won't mess with that right?

    Thread [Q] Dalvik/Chache/User data wipe?

So I'm about to install Tiamat's new ROM (I really want the init.d scripting functionality, plus it can't hurt to get up-to-date) but I can't remember if wiping my user data wipes out the /sdcard/ mount on my xoom. I've got 15gbs in there in all kinds of random stuff and I'd rather not wipe it...

    Post Maxthon tablet browser

Since MyIE2 I used Maxthon way back when it was MyIE2. I like it. I loved the mouse gestures, and it was just easier than IE. I continued using it after it became Maxthon for a while, but then I went Linux only for a few years and used FireFox and Opera. Now I'm strictly Google Chrome, but I...
