Yes you will have to root your Xoom. Stick mount works fine...

No it does not lock if unlocked from past rooting process. It does however kill current root.

I think Universal Root Method and flashing latest Superuser working. I have not tried but would love to know if it works.

Okay completed this method and worked fine. I also on step 12 flashed the stock recovery then performed the update through OTA and after verifying ROOT access with Titanium Backup I OEM unlocked which wipes the device but not Root Access. Its a lot OTA's but a good way to keep root on...

We need a root method with the app Root keeper. Universal Root method is not sticking.

Yep you need stock recovery for these updates to work.

The Xoom is a great device if you can deal with the almost 2 yr old specs. I like to 10" Form Factor with the latest Google updates. They just keep dragging it along for the ride. You cant go wrong with either device.

Yes the Xoom now runs Android 4.0.4 (ICS) and 4.1 (JB) is being sweetened as we write. Soon....The Xoom has many lives and is a great little pad....

You need to install stock Recovery. You will need RootKeeper to keep root..... Yes The phone auto checked and I manually checked 20min after. I then did the framework trick and voila NOW I EATING JB's ......

adb and fastboot are important set those up and you can root any device.

Right now I still think the Xoom is a better device. It does come down to personal preference 10" or 7". We will have to wait and see this device with Jellybean . But you will lose things like HDMI mirror and USB OTG with Nexus 7.

I think down the line there will be a Nexus 10 released to compete against the iPad. The Xoom does still seem to be a very good device. Google has to still develop with the Xoom that's why it continues to be updated right along with all the latest Android software. Google knows Androids time...

Try another file like total commander or es file explorers to verify that the file has disappeared and the memory count. Did you copy or cut the file? If you cut its probably gone.

It will not work unless used for stock updates from Motorola (Recovery). The Xoom or ICS actually knows the usb drive is there but it has to gain higher level access that only root privileges can give. So Rooting will solve this issue although rooting is not the answer for everything. Keyboard...

Xoom WIFI hopefully will be updated. It has received updates in a timely matter. If not the community will address the update.

Hopefully this Xoom will be updated to jellybean should be easy since this device is stock ICS.

There is no room left in the system/app folder on the XOOM for any additional .apk's? Why is system folder on XOOM with ICS so tight on space but there is plenty of extra space for the OS to use for storage and other things?

I have had some games crash on me with WIFI turned on. I turned off WIFI while game loaded and it works fine (funny but it seems to be the short term fix).

I would buy this phone again. With Verizon you do have choice. The updates unfortunately for the GNex on Verizon will not be coming with lightning speed either. The Razr Max is a good alternative but I would not get anything now without ICS. Who knows when the update will come.

The volume slider cannot be touched to different sound profiles like 4.0.2. They are now located on the power menu. in 4.0.4 Although this may not be a bug it bugs me.....

The Biggest differences in these phones will be user experience. Galaxy S II, HTC One X, and the GNEX all have different experiences. All will do essentially the same at the same speeds (Even with a Quad Core). YOU ultimately have to read and choose for yourself. Just cause something has more...

First I showed it off by using Google Wallet at a McDonalds. Then showed off by plugging a USB cord and Mouse & essentially turning the phone into a computer which it already is and then showing it on the TV Monitor. This is how I'm writing this post too.
