    Post Recommend moto x still?

This is the first phone I've had that I've ever run stock. I'm thinking of unlocking it, just to install xposed, but that's really it. Even my three Google Experience devices (Nexus One, Nexus S, and Xoom) were all rooted within a day or two of owning them. This phone is just really nice...

Post [Q] Can you just boot twrp recovery?

Interested in this as well, for booting kernels. Device support has been hit-or-miss for me in the past. And folks, he's asking about fastboot's ability to launch an image _without_ flashing. This is a somewhat esoteric/advanced use.

    Post [Q] Random Reboots

I've come to two realizations. 1) my phone has always been in my holster when it rebooted (when it happened while I was talking, I was using Bluetooth). 2) you can reboot this phone by long-pressing the power button, even when locked. You can guess where I'm headed with this. So for the next...

That was my suspicion. I've had occasional reboots with prior phones, but never with a stock image. The fact that no one's posted here about reboots made me pretty suspicious. -Jim

Post Moto X Cyber Monday (& Subsequent Deal days) Shipping Thread

My Vz dev edition shipped on Fri, arrived on Mon. Originally they double-authorized my credit card, and neither was the right value (both off by a dollar or two, and both different). They cancelled one of those auths the next day, and on Fri they replaced it with a new auth for the correct...

    Thread [Q] Random Reboots

I received my Vz Dev Edition phone on Mon. Still running bone-stock with the 4.4 update. The first night, while I was talking on the phone, the phone rebooted twice. Once more in the evening, it rebooted while in its holster. Since then, it's rebooted once or twice a day, always when I...

    Post Speaker Dock for $15

I think that's a bit harsh. Okay, compared to my phone, it's a lot harsh. But no, it's not near as good as, say, my Altec ipod dock. But it's not that bad. And it's worth the discounted price just to use as a dock/charger.

Overall, I like the rnd dock, but I find the blue led to be way too bright for my nightstand. And while the phone fits well, it sometimes takes me a few tries in the dark to get the phone onto the usb connector. I wish the Rezound had pogo-pin contacts like the Nexus One. Sent from my...

Post Extremely loud background noise with bluetooth.

It's more than just lack of noise canceling. I did a test at work by calling my desk phone. When i wasn't speaking, the gain would keep increasing until you could hear my officemate shuffling papers. Then when I'd speak, for a moment my voice was very distorted, and then the gain would drop...

Post Adding USB to the Xoom dock

Probably the best way to do it would be to mount a Mirco-AB socket in the back of the dock. Then you'd have the best of both worlds: you could plug a standard cable into the dock, and connect it to your pc; or you could plug in a OTG cable, and use it in host-mode. I might try that with my...

Post [Q] Using a USB cellular modem with Xoom WiFi

There's no difference between using a laptop with an external radio and using a tablet with an external radio. It's not like you're bypassing charges or anything. If anything, Verizon would be against xooms having a wifi radio at all. But they'd certainly prefer you to use a 3g dongle (which...
