Thank you, spetrie! But that available space in the system partition is exactly as much as it was in the Oreo build. I fail to understand how that could be an issue. Also, the Substratum layouts are being installed to the system/app, and those are working fine.

No this ain't helping. I've found out that the problem is solely with USB 3.0, and not Win8. I too suffer from a lappie with all USB 3.0 ports. I had my phone flashed with my friend's lappie, running Win8 but on USB 2.0 port, and it did the job flawlessly.

This does not clean anything. It's just a way to manually force-shutdown the device. Pretty similar to removing the battery of a phone, if something goes wrong.:)
