i have tried NUMEROUS times including using tips from the video that is linked and have adb in my path variable, took the adb commands from the batch files and ran them manually, etc. yeah.. i am -used_ to things like this working in like 0 minutes hence the frustration... mileage seems to vary...

so finally got ion rooted by doing some chicken head cut off ritual with a full moon, but upon reboot, it went into a reboot loop. went to flash from scratch and now step1 and step 2 faile with permissions issues this is crzy... my sg2 never gave me this much trouble rooting and flashing... ck

weird.. i did try from scratch and had the same thing where step 2 would not run because of permissions issues, but then i tried again today and it just ran and now i am rooted. strange

no, the instructions that i saw said just uncheck everything except exclude the baseband so i could keep LTE ... is that why? there are so many topics that show similar but steps that vary slightly... ck

yeah i wish this would work for me too... maybe it is a different part or chip causing problems... even tho it is a sgh-i777, it may differ just a bit based on manufacture date. the date under battery seems to indicate build date of oct 11 (1110) and rev 0.1 how about you? ck ----------...

rootbox no worky for me i have never been able to get rootbox to flash properly on my i777. all other roms install without issues and currently on paranoid 1.99 but each time i have installed rootbox, i get a bunch of force closes and hangs.. anyone else with similar issues and how did you fix?

initially, i thought it was cause i was in the employee page of the sony store, but the ion is now free with 2 yr contract with att... but the weird thing is that the phone is still $99 on the att website
