He gave so much of his time to this forum, helping people and contributing. I became aware of him probably 4 or 5 years ago because of how active he was answering questions and sharing his knowledge. A sad loss for the XDA community.
Can you not turn it off? It's likely just a Google VPN. They probably decided this is preferable to the alternative of letting average users connect to an open WiFi with SSID "Starbucks" that's actually someone running a WiFi hotspot in their car in the parking lot
Placeholder threads are not allowed. When the device has been released and there is something to post re: battery life, then a thread can be made.

What does this even mean? It's a totally unquantifiable statement. If you need help, I'd suggest posting a thread in the Q&A/Help forum and list what OS/kernel and the various apps you have installed. Modern quad core cellphones with 3gb of RAM and a dedicated GPU is not going to "lag" after 10...

The only growth left in phones/tablets is to peel users from competitors. And there's only so much that can be done with UI/UX to set yourself apart. The OEM's have understood this for a while that's why they're making forays into wearables, virtual reality, and driverless cars. I say this...
