I removed the notification bar and opened several items. The notification bar would appear and then disappear. In took a screenshot of the camera showing no notification bar. I see in the upper-right corner the noise level, WiFi, network, and clock. No notifications though. Hope this helps...

If I attempt to search for Netflix from the Play Store, it is not listed. However, I can install it from the Amazon Appstore and it does work without issue. Just a little work around for Netflix for right now. Hopefully this helps someone.
