not working properly here on hammerhead 3g. mostly works ok, but settings.apk and browser.apk wont install, copied over ok but wont install once there. had to download firefox to post this. have tried copying over again, but still no luck. any suggestions?

Haven't had a problem with normal SMS, seems to work fine. But when I try to send mms, it fc's and kills the internet connection. Have to delete the message from within handcent to stop internet from disconnecting.

Yeah, same results as those above. My Telstra Data plan includes $5 worth of calls for some reason, so have been calling using those (not SIP). Call connects, no audio in or out. SMS works fine. Included handcent download didn't work, but can easily download from Handcent Website. It's free...

never had a problem with 3g not working. But that's why you pay more for telstra - it works..... ;) Can't confirm the browser crashing, i updated about 10 minutes after i brought it home and browser has never crashed. Text input is laggy as hell in browser though. Not sure if the root/update...

Yes, nowadays its not that hard to figure out that the euro and aus models are the same. But back at the end of may when that post was written (not by me I might add) there wasn't that much info out about the aus model. We didn't know the model numbers and whether they were relevant to flashing...

Yes I had to push those files over too. I did it straight after installing the ROM though, before flashing the 3G fix zip. And yeah, still stuck on 2 bars.

3G fix works great btw. Using tiamat custom rom and haven't had 3G for a few days, but with this fix it works great again. Very fast rom too, well worth flashing.

Working perfectly! Flashed rom soon after release and haven't had 3G since, but the 3Gfix works perfectly. Just flashed it and rebooted and it worked. Contacts also work fine too. This is on an Australian xoom btw, so all you euro folk should be fine too. Thanks heaps for the great work!

btw, anyone considering installing the tiamat custom rom, don't. 3G not working. Apparently they're working on it though.

I have an australian one, but is same as euro. Installed rom and lost 3G, can't find any way to get it back. Wifi stopped working too, but I reflashed rom and it worked second time round (not sure what happened there). So maybe hold off until somebody gets it working properly.

Australian 3G flashed with US 3.1 rom and tiamat 1.4.4 Works fine on 3.0.2.8, but not latest 3.2.0.0 never tried any of the in between versions.

Sorry, I meant makes no difference to the price. I use telstra.internet on my xoom and telstra.iph on my desire. Totally agree with the rest of your comments too, have found telstra.internet much faster.

I had no idea what adb was until a week ago, i just went through it all step by step. Its not that hard to learn, as long as you follow it exactly as written you can't go too wrong. If you have any problems there's heaps of people here who can help you anyway.

Not sure what you mean by higher data costs. The apn doesn't change the cost of the data, it's just charged at the normal rate of your data plan. Have a look at this post over on the t-mod forum by an actual Telstra tech regarding the different apn settings too...

Just a heads-up for those of you overclocking, download and use 'no frills' CPU from market, not setcpu. Atm, setcpu is causing issues with a few people, including me. Plus 'no frills' is free.

Yes you can. I have been using them fine on my Aussie one (same as euro) since I bought it. Make sure you use 'no frills' CPU from market, not setcpu. Setcpu was causing reboots, but someone recommended no frills a few pages back and its working great on 1.7ghz. This goes for everyone, ATM...
