OK, I figured it out, at least how to give star ratings. In the Oculus app click on the menu and then library, from there you can give them star ratings. Still not sure where they're getting the comfort ratings from though...

My guess is that you'll have had to make a connection at least once and will definitely need to have installed the Gear apps first. I would install the gear, run through the setup, reboot, put the phone into the gear and then remove it, install the App Quarantine app and then try it. Should work.

Try rebooting your phone and looking for the Gear VR service again. If you have the Gear installed it should be there.

You do need to be rooted. Haven't seen a way to root without tripping Knox, yet...

The Note will need this connectivity if 3rd party devs are going to use the tracking data from the headset in their apps. Way lower latency than using the phone's sensors...

I know, mentioned that in the first paragraph. Just don't think it's a good idea to put the unesacerry strain on the USB connector and have a less than secure fit (don't want the phone crashing to the floor). This only takes 2 seconds to do and allows for a secure docking of the phone.

I have a stock rooted T-Mobile Note 4 with TWERP recovery installed and when I attempt to set up the Gear VR I get a notice I need to do a system update. I then get a notice saying the device has been modified in an unauthorized and to try updating via kies. Anyone know of a solution to this...

I've showered with it since I got it and it's holding up just fine. No point in having a waterproof watch if you can't even shower with it. Next up; Waterworld and the beach in Maui! We'll see how this goes... lol

Hmm, There is no send help message option in my Gear Manager. There is also no manage contacts (that was there when I had the Gear 1 for like 2 days until I returned it). What version of gear manager are you using? I'm on 2.0.14041404

Just FYI, triple pressing the home button doesn't do anything... There is no send help message option with the Gear 2.

I agree more useful free apps would be nice, but the calculators and 2048 apps were created by 3rd party developers. I paid the $2... You're welcome to take your time and expertise and create some useful apps and give them away for free!! ;)

I would suggest using the app Paragon, works well to mount NTFS file systems (stick mount only works with FAT32). Also, be sure you're using a good OTG cable. Here the best one I've found, on Amazon for $7.99. Hope this helps!
