    Post Chrome for android

The stock browser on Android has always been a separate app. Word on the street is that Chrome will replace the stock browser when it's out of beta, and the current browser will no longer be available in the open source Android os.

    Post Chrome for android

Works good on Eos 1.0.0. I don't really notice any improvement or slowness vs. the stock browser yet. Awesome to see a daily desktop application make its way over to the tablet though.

Post [ROM][ICS] Team Eos ICS 2.0.0 [Updated 2012/4/27]

Thanks for helping me not feel like an idiot for skipping the upgrade and keeping my Verizon Xoom on 3G. Installed about 6 different nightlies and I'm glad to see this come out of the oven!

    Post [ROM][Nightly][ICS] Team Eos US 3G Nightlies (stingray_cdma / MZ600)

When I was still on 3G (before all the December ICS ROMs hit) I would always turn on airplane mode before turning on WiFi. Does that help your issue on this ROM?

Post Things that I love about ICS:

Yes. So much more polished. Every navigation/tap/swipe/press on ICS just responds way better than Honeycomb.

Post Adding USB to the Xoom dock

Just finished my mod to the HD dock. Didn't have to splice any wires for this method. I had my spare Droid X dock lying around so I ripped the USB cable out of that for this mod. The DX USB cable mounts perfectly where the HD dock USB cable does, fits like a glove, and has a female end that's...

Post [AOSP] ICS Build for Verizon 3G/4G XOOM

I came from Tiamat which was my first non-stock rom, flashed the img files through fastboot, and HDMI out works perfect for me. Verizon 3G Xoom.

Post [AOSP] ICS Build for Verizon 3G/4G XOOM

So I've got the Vzw 3G Xoom running the newest Tiamat 2.3.0 build. If I flash the fast boot files to give this a shot, will I still have the recovery that came with Tiamat? Or does this include a recovery? This thread title should have had at least 10 exclamation points in it, by the way!

Post sony bravia engine on xoom

Nope. If you follow the adb method there's no need for opening and editing the build.prop file. The second to last command in the adb method will echo the necessary text to the build.prop file for you.

Post Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android

Xoom owner here. I just picked one of these up after using a basic MS bluetooth on my tablet, and this keyboard is awesome. I don't know if they somehow optimized it for Android but it seems way more responsive than the MS keyoard does. Whether the Gingerbread issue or not, let's face it...

Post ICS already on Xoom! Why don't we have it yet???

I will poach elephants and club baby seals for ICS on my Xoom before Christmas. Any big game hunters interested, just get in touch. Oh wait, we're talking about posting on forums

Post [ROM] Team Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.3.0 - US Verizon LTE Edition [12/11/11]

Same here, same process. Although I have no 3G now, but that's not a huge issue since I'm trying to negotiate with Verizon to turn my $20/mo 3G Xoom plan into a $30/mo Bionic hotspot plan.

Post Grand Theft Auto III NOW!!

In the "More from developer" on the web market, it shows: GTA 3 (4 stars) GTA III (3.5 stars) Grand Theft Auto 3 (3 stars) All from Rockstar Games Inc. All three are incompatible with my devices. However, 'Grand Theft Auto III' is compatible. When I click on Rockstar Games Inc. the only...

    Post Xoom dock reduced priced

Man, am I glad I didn't drop $130 on this when I bought my Xoom... Got my $20 dock in the mail this afternoon. At least now I'll have an alternate charging method once I snap off that tiny internal charging pin :)

Post OnLive player app now available

After a few days with the app I'm pretty impressed. I gave the $10 a month plan a try so I could really get a good idea (plus compare against the PC version.) The wired 360 controller works flawlessly and I agree, I could see them blocking the non-OnLive controller once it's released, or if...

Post 2011 is nearly at is end, so I'm gonna say in now. Xoom was the best tablet of 2011

I'd say best Android tablet of the year for sure. In spite of "not being an iPad killer", 4G/SD debacle, there was very little trade-off with the Xoom. Might be a little thick and heavy, but with the OTG cable, SD slot after root, direct HDMI out, 32GB base storage, and typically the quickest...

Post OnLive player app now available

Got the app, we'll see what comes of this. Touchscreen is gonna have to go for me, not a fan of touchscreen controls especially when there's physical controller options. Tried a Saitek 6 button and a PS2 controller/adapter through the OTG... both let me use the analog stick and d-pad but no...

Post Xoom Heaven: Rooting, Roms, Kernels... You Name It! [Updated: 9/14]

Thanks for putting this together. I was very nervous about rooting my Xoom even though I've hacked/rooted every phone I've ever owned. Having all this information together like this calmed me a lot through the root/ROM process, I kept it open during every step. Everything was a success and...

Post why would I want a Xoom

Well I guess you need to be sold on Honeycomb plus taking on a $30 a month data plan. I saw the $199 deal and got mad at first since I paid $599...but the $199 deal requires you to get a $30/month plan...which if you crunch the numbers for 2 years doesn't look too pretty. As for the Xoom...

Post Adding USB to the Xoom dock

I've been thinking about converting my Droid X home dock into a Xoom dock lately. Looking at the USB/HDMI spacing on it I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only downfall of course would be needing to fit this into something more stable than the DX dock and then the lack of power to it. I've...

Post [Q] IceCream Sandwich and Xoom

This is from a PC World article this morning: Although Google has kept its cards close to its vest about ICS, a number of things have been reported about it. Widgets will be richer and resizable, as they are in the tablet version of Android. More multitasking will be added to the system and...

Post Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition

I don't get it. Maybe if you want 1080p and some really ugly corners. Will have to see the final specs but this seems like a minor incremental upgrade at the moment. Fine with Xoom 1 for now.

Post What other tablets look good?

I think the Sony Tablet S looks pretty good, and the unique style is growing on me a lot. Of all the reviews I've read of it they all say the shape gives it a better 'feel' in terms of just having it in your hands and carrying it around. Second place? I don't care what anybody says, the Xoom...

Post Are you mad about no 4G?

I'm not infuriated over no 4G. I barely use the 3G on mine cause of the lowest tier data plan. I'd probably lug mine around more if I had the 4G but then I'm sure I'd go over my GB pretty quick on it. I'm a little mad about basically being kept in the dark about this and the SD but it's not...

Post Has the Xoom successfully replaced your laptop yet?

I don't know if your u210 had the same jet engine fan issue my u100 had, but I don't miss that annoyance one bit. That's something I take for granted with Xoom.. the fact that it's fanless and it's sleep mode is truly instant-on. Huge plus.

Post Has the Xoom successfully replaced your laptop yet?

My Xoom successfully replaced an MSI Wind netbook. On battery life and portability alone Xoom wins hands down, and that Tegra 2 smokes Atom 1.6 in every way that I've noticed. Casual browsing and even just moving through the OS feels much snappier on Xoom than any config I ever tried on the...

Post Xoom and USB audio devices.

I tried plugging in the Korg nanoPAD and Serato. Both devices powered up but that was about it. I'm not rooted so I can't easily debug to see if the OS recognizes them even. Would be awesome if Google could give HC some DAW/Midi love, and of course some quality apps would need to follow (sigh)

Post Verizon XOOM owners considering hitting up verizon rep for exchange with real 4g tab

I got my 3G Xoom on the Monday right before the 3.1 update hit. Was sooo convinced I made the right choice and had the best tablet on the market. Then in the past couple days I see the Kal El demo and Galaxy Tab's getting 4G at launch. Not so sure where I stand now... I'm just picturing 3-4...
