I was somewhat surprised myself to see that my TMOUS sensation's screen was actually narrower than my HD2. It's slightly taller, but noticeably narrower. WMWifiRouter creates an ad-hoc network which the Xoom cannot connect to by default. You can modify some files to allow you to connect. Search for a thread here on the topic. Someone solved it already. Use the terms Xoom and ad-hoc network.
