Perhaps you're unlucky and your hardware can't handle the default clockspeed of the ROM? It's higher than 1ghz by default. Get setcpu and lower the speed or flash the zip on the first page to see if that helps? Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium

I thin you've misunderstood the intention of the OP. It was to be able to mount your Transformer under Linux and be able to read/write the files stored on the Transformer's internal storage. Not to actually install a full blown Linux Distro on your Transformer.

Because Intel Core i5 is an x86 architecture CPU, and Android Honeycomb is compiled to run on ARM CPUs. It's impossible to port Honeycomb to the EP121 without the source code, which isn't available. Even if it was, the idea of Android is to run on low power, lightweight, ultra portable devices...

Would you mind sharing how you do this? Are you using the iPlayer desktop Windpows program and stripping out the DRM or are you using some other method to watch iPlayer downloads on your TF? The iPlayer Android App doesn't work well with Honeycomb and I'd love to be able to watch BBC programmes...

I know that for rooted Iconia A500s, someone has written a Kernel Module that allows use of USB 3G Dongles in the USB Host Port. It's probably not going to be that difficult to write a Kernel Module for USB ethernet adaptors. There are probably lots out there that use the same chipset/driver.

There's a further tweet from @DroidRay who did some of the work calling for Asus to release an Open Bootloader or else they'll release the hack. Exciting!

The same method certainly worked on Acer Iconia A500 tabs. I did it to mine before swapping it out for a Transformer. AFAIK it was the same wpa_supplicant file from the Xoom forums here on XDA that I pushed to my Iconia and it worked well. Might give it a bash in a bit. Sent from my Transformer...

You're not alone. Mine is the same. If you pull the sticker away you will find there is nothing inside to hold a SIM card in place and it will fall inside the unit. It's just lazy software development that is the reason that the Iconia reports as being an A501.

Just looking through the Settings menus available through Minimalistic Text. There's a few hidden engineering menus as well as a SIP configuration screen. There's also a Band options menu but it's for UMTS/CDMA not WiFi. Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App

I've used HandBrakeCLI under Linux to convert HD MKVs for use on my Iconia. It definitely works ok for 720p video but not yet tried any 1080p. I've written a couple of scripts that convert a single mkv file and also a directory full of mkv files, they can be downloaded here...
