Thread [Q] Can't flash a modem image I grabbed after Rogers/Fido KitKat OTA

Anyone know why I can't flash the modem partition I pulled right after the Fido/Rogers Kit Kat OTA? My steps were [email protected]_u:/ # ls /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem -la lrwxrwxrwx root root 2014-12-03 11:12 modem -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 Then I did this to copy...

Yeah, I work on 170st in Edmonton though. Selling car parts of all things (yet have a firm grasp of Linux). Luckily it's dead enough here that I was able to fix my phone. Not a lot of demand for performance car parts in winter. :)

Post [Q]Anyone have a stock KitKat image for RSD-Lite? Bricked phone

Thanks! Anyway, at least I ripped the modem partition using "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=modem.img" before I bricked it... I managed to do the Fido update the first time around. I think that's where I went wrong... I was going to try testing this on another stock KitKat image (which I...

Thread [Q]Anyone have a stock KitKat image for RSD-Lite? Bricked phone

Well, I bricked my phone because I'm assuming I made a change to one of the read-only partitions that gets checked for the OTA update. Phone is bricked. Can't flash anything right now. Returned to LOCKED status. Can't even get the unlock code anymore. Also tried the unlock code from my...

Well, I managed to upgrade my bootloader when I used the Brazil stock ROM plus modified OTA zip file but my modem partition got gibbled... I don't have LTE anymore. :( Well, not a band that works here. I did see there was a patching process when I did the KK upgrade though and I seem to...

Thread [Q] How are people upgrading to KitKat bootloader?

I'm just wondering how people are upgrading to the KitKat bootloader. I haven't been on in nearly a half year and I'm sure I've missed something. Will I have to put on my stock firmware and upgrade from there first? Is there even a stock KitKat ROM for the XT925?

So, maybe I'm the only one with issues? My SD card will work fine for days at the moment. However, when I start downloading multiple torrents at a time on my phone, my phone would no longer see my SD card after awhile. Previous setup: 64GB microSD formatted as FAT32. After awhile, my card...

Post Firmware RAZR HD XT925 Retail Brasil Jelly Bean 4.1.2 by "Firmware Team"

First thing you need to do is install RSD Lite (version 6+). Then you extract the firmware somewhere. Modify the XML file to remove the part <step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />. Run RSD Lite and open the modified XML file. Reboot your phone in bootloader mode. I believe you...

This is exactly why I posted my modded XML file for the others. Like SickBeast said, there's only one line causing 99% of the problems. Instead of deleting it like SickBeast did, I turned mine into comments. Either way, that getvar line is disabled. Take note that if you're using my XML...

Post [REQUEST] Fido/Rogers LTE Modem JB

There is a way... If you can access /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem you can grab a copy by doing a "cat /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem > /modem.bak" or something. I'm no expert but that's how I did something like this before. Not sure if root is needed.

When you first buy a phone from Rogers/Fido, it comes as a neutral (unbranded) phone... When the SIM card is put in, it will ask you if you want to "Configure device to SIM". Essentially, it's asking if it's okay to brand your phone a Rogers or a Fido one depending on your SIM. When you say...

Post RAZR HD Fido vs Rogers

If you reflash the Rogers ROM, you're back to being unbranded. If you proceed, you reboot into recovery and it flashes the branded stuff onto your phone. I think it only asked me on the first few startup. Might have stopped after I performed a normal reboot.

Thread RAZR HD (XT925 Rogers/Fido) Sensor List

I was surprised and happy to see all these sensors here as the Galaxy S3 vs RAZR HD comparisons seem to make it look like the RAZR HD was missing a gyroscope, NFC and other things. I was surprised to see we have a built in barometer too! Sensors as reported by Elixir 2:

Post RAZR HD Fido vs Rogers

There is a warning message when you start the RAZR HD with the neutral Rogers firmware. It says that it'll wipe your phone based on some SIM setting. If you choose to proceed, you get either Rogers or Fido branded firmware. I've reflashed the stock ROM a few times so its tested.
