I read a post about using some rsd file and also a file from the hd utility to do a restore using rsd-lite. It's all very confusing to me. On 4.1.1 rooted, all I had to do was the 4.0.4 restore in the HD utility, is was extremely clear and easy. This 4.1.2 via rsd, not so much.

I'm on 4.1.2 and rooted. How do I unroot to send my device back to Verizon for a warranty replacement? (The HD Utility 1.10 4.04 restore does not work from 4.1.2)

I have a replacement device with 4.1.1. If I root and use rootkeeper, it sounds like I can get rooted 4.1.2. If I need to send the device back to Verizon, is it possible to unroot & unrom 4.1.2?

So my Note 2 takes a very long time for the screen to turn on with power button press or after a phone call (taking away from face). This seems to affect all devices. Do custom ROMS resolve this issue? If so, which ones?

Does the replacement paperwork reference the device it's replacing? You might want to verify Verizon is not trying to swap your HD.

I don't believe for one second you have zero lag. Simply not possible. Even the Nexus has lag, and this phone is far worse in terms of lag.

Settings -> Developer options -> check 'Disable HW overlays'. This makes it ~95% better. In all honestly, with all the issues (lag, etc) I've been having with JB, I've contemplated going back to ICS or getting a Note 2.

It still has issues. I have no idea why the Moto implementation of JB is so bad.

Yep Yep, the real numbers are the screen on time. People on DROID DNA's claim to get 2 days on their phones....with less than 3 hours of screen time, of course! I'm just glad I have a phone I can use heavily and get through a full day. Super light usage at home will get me through 2 days.

I got it! When I choose FASTBOOT from the Bootloader, it just says FASTBOOT, not FASTBOOT USB. I then chose the option REBOOT BOOTLOADER and it came back up as FASTBOOT USB. YAY! Thanks fellas!

^I'm not certain how to do get it into 'FASBOOT USB'. Mine just says FASTBOOT, that tutorial is a bit confusing. adb says "error: device not found". Obviously, I am having trouble connecting the USB....Also, what boot.img file should I use? Why does it say S-ON?

How? My knowledge is limited to rooting and flashing ROM packages. On my RAZR there is a program I can run on my computer with the phone in fastboot and then push the RUU file to the phone via the program with the phone in fastboot mode. I dont know if that is possible on the EVO or if I can...

I did a restore again using RSD Lite. The recovery still said "qe 1/1". I also ran a root checker app and it said I did not have root. I've done enough, back to Verizon it goes.

Is there any way for me to verify I've unrooted? Is the absence of superuser enough verification?

BOTH my numbers say 1..."qe 1/1". I was under the assumption that doing the Fastboot Restore to 4.0.4 would turn one of the numbers to a 0. Is that wrong?

I guess what concerns me most is why would my phone continue to maintain root (the second 1) if I followed the fastboot 4.0.4 restore procedure?

Nobody knows why the Fastboot Restore returning me to 4.0.4 would keep the 1/1? I need to unroot this thing to send it back to verizon...help!
