We had the same issue on the Verizon LG G2 and it was never actually roaming. It was a reporting issue. Can't remember how we fixed it in source though. Was something in telephony I think though. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I have been using it for a few days now, with roaming data enabled and have not had any extra charges showing up on my account. So I would beleive it is safe to turn on and not worry about. Just keep an eye on your account.
