Post Droid Mini XT1030 4.2.2 to 4.4 Confirmed Root

Yes, only problem is it looks like the new ones are shipping from VZW with 4.4 installed. Wife bought her's a week ago and it was already on KK. If you want root now, look for a seller that can guarantee 4.2.2 - otherwise you'll be waiting for a 4.4 exploit to surface. Honestly, aside from...

    Post Droid Mini XT1030 4.2.2 12.7.7 & 12.15.15 Confirmed Root

I have not used hers in the car but I did notice that tonight vs tv noise, while mine still on 4.2.2 did not have the same recognition issue. As I tested it last night, the room was quiet and her's activated better. In the noise tonight, it seemed 4.2.2 can filter out background noise better.

    Post Droid Mini XT1030 4.2.2 12.7.7 & 12.15.15 Confirmed Root

For those interested in the mini, it appears the 4.2.2 is at an end from Verizon. My wife's arrived today with 4.4. On a plus, after playing with her phone, I see some improvements in the 4.4 KK over 4.2.2-12.15.15. I am thinking of leaving JB behind and trying the next push to 4.4 root this...

From all my reading here, NWKENT's package of JCASE's exploit is the cleanest and simplest to follow to date! Use the link and follow the included directions.

    Post Droid Mini XT1030 4.2.2 12.7.7 & 12.15.15 Confirmed Root

I believe write protection is off - android noob here so maybe someone more knowledgeable can post on it. What I do know is the next big step is to get Titanium Pro so you can freeze the 2 OTA (Over the Air) update programs so you don't accidentally get upgraded to 4.4 and loose root. According...

    Post Droid Mini XT1030 4.2.2 12.7.7 & 12.15.15 Confirmed Root

Congrats! Take the part 1 download on NWKENT's link (http://waynekent.com/page18.html) - it has all files needed including the FXZ for 12.15.15. Yes, flash 1st to 12.15.15 and then follow NWKENT's directions - a very clean step-by-step. This is what I used for confirmation and worked seamless...

JB is only going as high as 4.2.2-12.15.15. The next upgrade to 4.4 is KK. If you make the jump to 4.4, future updates will be KK. So I believe NWKENT is suggesting that you play with 4.2.2-12.15.15 for a while instead of heading directly to KK on 4.4.

    Post Droid Mini too

I am still on 4.2.2 and I do not see this problem - and I have plugged in to both my comp and the wall adapter. I doubt this helps your problem but I can at least confirm that I'm not seeing it.

The thread here correct? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616104 If I understand that thread correctly, you must be rooted 1st on 4.2.2 before doing that method. If you have done this with the Mini, you used JCase's updated rooting method found here...

Post Anyone tried SafeRoot? Thinking of getting a mini but not w/o root.

I received my Mini on 2/12 straight from VZW and it has 4.2.2 w/ 12.7.7. OTA keeps pushing me to update to 12.15.15 I believe but I'm snoozing it till I read and get more info on rooting it. This is my first android and although I'm not new to modding, I am to android.

Yes, the more I read, the more I understand that. Coming from modding a few years ago, I'm a bit jumpy with trying mods cross phones and need to remember that we are dealing with an OS that has cross model similarities. Learning about androids is almost as bad as Radiocomms learning curve lol...

Droid Mini??? Would love a bump on this and an answer if the Mini will have it's own section, or if software mods performed on the Moto X can be cleanly replicated on the Droid Mini (meaning Mini users should be in the Moto X section). Being new to the mini and this forum (and Androids in...

Post [Discussion] What's your next smartphone / What should I buy

Due to many things, I have been out of modding since the V3xx and the RAZR V9 (which has happened to be my phone since then lol). With a new Droid Mini on the way, I'm looking forward to learning some new things and having some fun (without creating that classic paperweight).
