Just a little FYI, instead of tether mod, you should use the Moto Tether module for Xposed. Makes things a little bit easier, but you may know this already.

there's also an app called rashr which can flash recoveries from the phone itself. good for when you dont or cant connect to a pc.

I have 3 Moto Gs xt1028 on stock 4.4.2 and the app just causes a reboot without giving root. Followed instructions to reboot multiple times before using your app. Any suggestions?

Yes I have the XT1080 Maxx Unlocked and twrp rooted and Xposed. I just finished flashing the new blue dialer using the link a few posts back. The green one is still here also.

no luck i tried yesterday with no luck. I didnt want to root either but my only option was rooting (just install the MOTOROOT app) and that's it. I'm using the stock hotspot app( used sqlite to change the entitlement.

Find some friends that's not good. try and find someone in your area thats also an Android geek. They may be able to help you with you One. Google+ would be a good start or Craigslist. Go make some local friends.
