Post [HELP THREAD] nexus4 Ask any question.

International Travel? Hi all, I have a question: I'm travelling out of the USA for the first time - yay! for work - boo! I'll be in Munich, Germany for about two weeks, and I need to be able to use my phone for data, calls & sms while out of the country - I have TMobile for my provider now...

Hi there, I just flashed: wiped everything Installed the latest DU zip and the Gapps zip I'm running into an issue - The screen flashes back to the boot animation in the middle of things and then takes me to the unlock screen / graphics glitches / input issues. Any ideas on what I did...

Post Is Swiftkey tab keyboard compatible with Polaris Office?

No worries on the advert front - I get a little frustrated with the keyboard myself, so I'm kind of shopping for a new one to use. I'd have to agree with you - Quickoffice > Polaris (but I'm biased :D)

Post [HELP THREAD] nexus4 Ask any question.

Not sure on responsiveness because I'm on stock, but I've definitely noticed that the phone is slippery. If I set it on a table on top of an iPad or Nexus tab, it's likely to slide off on its own, It falls out when I try to squish my head to my shoulder with it, and it shoots around my car...

Ah! I'm fortunate to work in an environment where cloud computing is not frowned upon (it's actively encouraged), so that tends to be the first thing I think about.

Post change from iphone 4s to Nexus 4?

There was an adjustment period for him - how do I get X, where can I find apps, where is X setting. He was a little pouty at the beginning of the process, but after a month or so, he's up and running and very happy. The main thing that he missed was a collection settings that covered all apps...

Post 1st Post Introduction. (1 month GN 10.1 user)

On the android side of things, there are some pretty good alternatives (especially if your company is on Google Apps) for note taking and archiving. There's Drive + Docs + Quickoffice for times when you need more complex documents, or evernote for times when you need plain text and files and...

Post Is Swiftkey tab keyboard compatible with Polaris Office?

Two semi serious questions: 1. How does Polaris feel like a paranoid uncle (I'm genuinely curious - I work for QO and use it fairly often when testing things for customers or just spying on our "competition"'s apps)? 2. It looks like the Galaxy 2 tab can get Jellybean - do you really need...

Post change from iphone 4s to Nexus 4?

Definitely get back and let us know if you have any questions - I just held my boyfriend's hand through his iPhone to Nexus 4 transition (I give great Valentines presents!), so I'm sure some of your questions will either pop up for him or already have. :)

Post New to smartphone, various questions

I think (and mind you this is all my own thoughts through observation/reading news), Google is working towards a life in the "cloud", so storage on the device itself kind of defeats the purpose. there's Drive for file management and gdocs, Quickoffice for when you need Office, Google Play Music...

Post New to smartphone, various questions

The Nexus 4 quickoffice is just a file viewer (it doesn't even have an app icon), so you'll need to use another application to locate your files to open them in Quickoffice. I recommend using Astro or ES. I've used both and absolutely love them. Obligatory Sales pitch: There's also a file...

Post [HELP THREAD] nexus4 Ask any question.

There's a couple things you can try to see if it helps: -try a different usb cable -reboot the phone while connected to the computer -launch finder/explorer and try to navigate to the phone's location (or where it should be) Hope this helps some :)

Post [HELP THREAD] nexus4 Ask any question.

I dont think this is in order to conserve RAM, I think this gets done to conserve battery (but I may be wrong). I don't know of a way to work around it, but I'm definitely curious if there is one, because there are a couple apps I'd rather not see shut off in the background

Hi Dave, I do support for Quickoffice, but it seems like some of your needs/preferences make Quickoffice not the best mobile ppt for you. I recently found Softmaker's suite when looking for something for a customer who needed to work with ODF files. They have a trial version available, so it...

Post [Q] PDF reading on the Nexus 10?

If you end up choosing Quickoffice and have any questions, let me know - I'm happy to help. :) And because I kind of have to: Quickoffice for Android supports PDF annotation as well as reading, and works with bookmarks. So friend will have to be jealous of your awesome PDF viewer now. :silly:

Post The great battery impression thread

I don't really think a dark background helps with it - but dimming the screen definitely does. It's just a lot easier to read and see things on a darker background with a dim screen, IMO. :) It may be because I'm used to an AMOLED screen - my last phone was a One S, and I've had a couple of...

Post The great battery impression thread

The stock Quickoffice shouldn't drain your battery like that - it's just a document viewer. If you're using the paid version of QO, it may drain your battery a little because of it running in the background keeping files active. Just save and close any files you're working on then close...

Re: [HELP THREAD] Nexus 4. Ask any question. The custom launcher is a separate app. The first time you load your home screen after you install one you'll be prompted to pick an app to use. Post which apps can i safely disable/remove ?

Quickoffice is part of 4.2 stock - it's a MS Office viewer - you shouldn't see any negative results when you remove/disable it if you're using Kingsoft. If you have any other specific QO questions, let me know!

    Post [Q] Nexus 7 - more questions

QO Pro and Pro HD are both available for the Nexus 7, but I'd recommend picking Pro HD over Pro (it's essentially a difference in UI). The main reason is the HD file manager is a little more intuitive, and supports drag and drop, whereas Pro requires checkboxes and cut/copy/paste operations.
