Nice work! Does Android Pay work with magisk on this phone?

    Post Root?

I haven't seen anything yet, but I assume it's coming. I don't think there will be a lot of roms though.

    Post Ergonomics (in-hand feel)

It's very slippery, which is not a good feeling for such a large device. I will need to get a case, or maybe some rubber adhesive strips. for the back.

    Post Contrast (true blacks)

Running apps in dark mode, the black space looks like the phone is asleep. I've never seen blacks like this on a phone, though it is my first LED.

    Post Scrolling smoothness

Flicking and flicking in flamingo for twitter. It keeps loading more tweets far off the bottom of the page, and I just keep flicking. It never stutters, never chops. The performance is like nothing I have seen.

Post When can we buy this in the US??? What's the price?

Well, I personally have never seen an Asus phone in the wild, in the US. No major carriers sell them, as far as I know. It wouldn't surprise me at all if their projections were low. Maybe newegg got 10 phones, also expecting a lukewarm turnout. I can't speak to Asus' presence in North America...

....and now they're out of stock. Nuts.

Post When can we buy this in the US??? What's the price?

FYI, B&H isn't expected to have any to ship until November 13th, and that's most likely only for the first orders they've received.

I preordered mine on B&H Photo yesterday. Can't wait!

Thread Huawei Home keeps setting itself back as the launcher

This is for the EVA-AL10. I use Nova Launcher. I changed to it using apps -> settings -> default app settings -> launcher. It works fine, but then when I turn bluetooth on to listen to music during my commute, some time while BT is active, the launcher gets changed back to Huawei Home, and I...

    Post [ROM][7.1.x][[UNOFFICIALY][LineageOS 14.1 For Huawei P9 ][ Update 24/02/2017 ]

Can you explain a bit what needs to go into the git repo before the camera will work? Are you manually writing device drivers? Are you reverse-engineering the huawei proprietary driver? Is there anything I can do to help?

I see surdu has an update to LineageOS. Can we expect a bump to RR soon?

    Post [ROM][7.1.x][[UNOFFICIALY][LineageOS 14.1 For Huawei P9 ][ Update 24/02/2017 ]

Would it be helpful if I drafted a template letter for people to copy and paste into an email/tweet/whatever to Huawei? If so, what should the highlights be? How's this?

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][BETA]Resurrection Remix Nougat

Would it be reasonable to watch Surdu's lineageOS thread for an update, for the camera update?

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][BETA]Resurrection Remix Nougat

I have this installed on my phone right now(Chinese AL10) and while there are some jitters and chops(which are 100% to be expected in a beta release) the rom is outstanding. Once the camera is working, this will be my daily driver. Great work, NexXuSKa!

Post [ROM][Dual SIM Support][Stable] Resurrection Remix Marshmallow For The Huawei P9

I have installed this rom a couple times, and love the way it works, though I have one major problem. If the screen is off for more than a couple minutes, nothing will turn it back on. Not a call, not a notification, and no button-presses or screen double-taps(which don't work under any...

    Post [ROM][6.0.1][UNOFFICIALY][ CM-13.0 For Huawei P9 ][Update 13/12/2016]

Does HWC support mean that we will be able to use the Huawei camera app in cm13 at some point? That's what I miss the most.

    Post [ROM][6.0.1][UNOFFICIALY][ CM-13.0 For Huawei P9 ][Update 13/12/2016]

Make sure when doing the wipe in twrp to reformat the encrypted data filesystem. On the wipe screen it's the button right above the slider, to the right.

    Post [ROM][6.0.1][UNOFFICIALY][ CM-13.0 For Huawei P9 ][Update 13/12/2016]

To be clear, the AL10 supports all the global LTE bands in addition to whatever there may be in China. I am in Colorado for example, and have full access to all the bands provided by TMO and ATT. Such a shame though that when I purchased, the only 64/4gb model available was the Great Firewall...

    Post [ROM][6.0.1][UNOFFICIALY][ CM-13.0 For Huawei P9 ][Update 13/12/2016]

I've successfully flashed the 1117, 23, and 24 versions of this ROM, and I can confirm it works on the made-for-China EVA-AL10. I had to flash supersu along with gapps, which both are totally fine-- just some more zips to add to the flash --but I cannot figure out at all how to get the...

    Post r1 - Custom ROM starter template - Huawei P9 EVA-L09 B136

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes. The P9 needs an AOSP ROM that is 100% EMUI-free. I would use that in a heartbeat, and even give up some premium features(fingerprint and camera) to get it. I would also love to learn how to build one myself.

    Post [ROM] NCS ROM v2.3

Of course. I use nova, and have for years on a half dozen phones and tablets. What I'd like to change most is the overly complicated and slow-moving notification pulldown, and the altered system settings UI that lacks a number of things I frequently use. If you'd like to talk more about this...

Nuts! I've been waiting for a ROM without EMUI. Thanks for your work though!

    Post [ROM] NCS ROM v2.3

A couple questions, just to be clear: Has this ROM stripped EMUI off the phone? Do the huawei camera app and fingerprint reader work?

What info? I reported what appears to be wrong. I selected BOOTLOADER and then selected RECOVERY, and no recovery came up. That's where the discussion is.

    Post [Q] Accessing the Recovery

Goomanager, which is what I used to install my recovery, and what told me that the install had succeeded, booted me to the boot menu. I've noted that the phone still says S-ON, which is troubling. Anyway, I select BOOTLOADER and then RECOVERY, and it just drops me back to where I was. No...

    Thread [Q] Accessing the Recovery

I love my new phone, but I can't seem to figure out how to access its recovery. I rooted on the first day(way to go, community!) and have confirmed that root access is working. Titanium is doing its thing without an issue. My question: How do I access the recovery on my HTC EVO 4G LTE? Read on...
