So I can safely update my device (even on an OpenKirin ROM) thru eRecovery? What about process using OTA? How will that go? I guess using eRecovery will be the easiest of the two.

If I'm on an OpenKirin ROM (RROS) should I go back to EMUI to manually update my firmware (from B528 to B540)?

I am currently at OpenKirin's RROS b2, thanks for the information though. I thought we were missing a lot of things (especially network side) since I feel like the data connection speed is not on par with EMUI 8's speed but I think this is with the ROM. Thanks man!

Are we (the users that did the old instructions) required to do this? What changes does it make?

    Post [ROM][8.1][OpenKirin's RROS Oreo v6.0.0 - For Huawei P9][Update 25/03/2018]

Sorry I was a little excited on having a GSI Rom. I never knew that the stock recovery was different from the eRecovery. Can I flash the TWRP you provided AFTER I have done the processes? Thanks! ---------- Post added at 11:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:20 AM ---------- Thank you...

    Post [ROM][8.1][OpenKirin's RROS Oreo v6.0.0 - For Huawei P9][Update 25/03/2018]

I tried it but not that way. I do 'fastboot erase system' 'fastboot -u flash system rom.img' then when it boots (or if not) I go to eRecovery then it says that the data partition is severly corrupted, then it formats the data but TWRP cannot access it. It seems that the way to fix the camera and...

    Post Rebrand-Update-Tool-HWOTA7-P9-EVA

Has someone had any success in flashing a GSI Image without getting their /data partition corrupted? I feel like the other user that had success is from China (based on his previous posts and his device is a TL-00) which probably uses another TWRP (the Chinese one). It may seem like it is a rude...

    Post [ROM][8.1][OpenKirin's RROS Oreo v6.0.0 - For Huawei P9][Update 25/03/2018]

Are you using the Chinese based TWRP? Because my data partition always gets corrupted when I flash OpenKirin's RROS GSI. I'll try again in the weekends. I do fastboot erase system and then fastboot -u flash system openkirinrrosblabla.img, it boots but the internal storage can't be detected by...

    Post [ROM][8.1][OpenKirin's RROS Oreo v6.0.0 - For Huawei P9][Update 25/03/2018]

But what ROM are you using right now? The official or OpenKirin's one? And does the fix work for either of the two? Also if you do use the official one, is it the A only or the A/B? I can't seem to understand what is the correct one for our device. Thanks dude.

Can I install OpenGapps on the EMUI 8? I only installed a Play Store that I have searched from Google and I'm not really sure if it is that 'safe' to use. Thanks!

    Post [ROM][8.1][OpenKirin's RROS Oreo v6.0.0 - For Huawei P9][Update 25/03/2018]

What do you mean by RROS 2/7? Are you reffering to the OpenKirin RROS or the Official GSI RROS? Because I don't see any other version of RROS in OpenKirin's website. Also, did you have bluetooth when you switched to RROS? Because my bluetooth got removed and I also have a corrupted (not really...

After testing this again, it seems like the /data partition is encrypted as soon as I boot the RROS. But before booting, I can access (even mount and see the details of the partition) just fine. I guess this issue is caused by the recovery and/or the GSI. I can install apps just fine but I think...

For some reason why /data partition is acting so weird. It is somehow encrypted, but when I format it into EXT4 or F2FS (which shows that it has 25000MB free space). Huawei eRecovery 'fixes' it and says that it is corrupted but my TWRP says that it can't be mounted (even shows as 0MB). I think...

Do I need to unlock the bootloader after going on AL10B399SP17? I tried flashing the boot image but it fails when it is 'writing' the boot. It says command not allowed. Also after flashing the AL10B399SP17, I had a situation where the text is all Chinese and I didn't know what to do, so I...

So if I am not mistaken, for EVA-L19C636, I am supposed to be on the latest version possible then rebrand into Europe version, then rebranding into AL00B399SP01, then proceed to Oreo? So I need to download 3 firmwares right? Do you have any recommendations on what Treble ROM to flash on our...

Do I need to be on the latest version of EMUI Nougat (I think it is B399SP01 or something)? It looks promising so far, I hope I can successfully be on Oreo so I can flash Treble ROMS. Thank you so much!

I agree, I'm gonna try the camera that you suggested. I'm not too fond of EMUI and I really like Resurrection Remix so I'm finding alternatives.

Can I ask if the EMUI Camera can be ported in this ROM? Or any other camera can be be substituted that has almost the same features as the EMUI Camera? I never had problems in the ROM, I had Magisk, Substratum, and Xposed working. Thanks for this! But I feel that I am having a hard time...

Yeah the ROM is absolutely beast; however, the camera's focus is not working at the moment. And I would appreciate if the double tap to wake stayed on the kernel/ROM. Anyways, kudos for this!
