Post [Root] NookManager - graphical rooter for 1.2.x and beyond

straygecko, would it be possible for you to post a fix we could install over ADB? I apologize if you already have, I looked through the posts and I've not seen it.

Post [Root] NookManager - graphical rooter for 1.2.x and beyond

It's not something I'm overly concerned with, I can live without wifi on my NSTG while in a B&N. But if I can help with the solution I'd be more than willing, sort of as a means to pay back those who have done so much for us.

Post [Root] NookManager - graphical rooter for 1.2.x and beyond

If it's something that can be installed quick and easy I'd be glad to test it out for you. I work at a B&N so I'm there fairly often. I say quick and easy only because I'm not great with rooting, which is what attracted me to Nookmanager in the first place.

I was just wondering on the status of this fix.

Post [Q] Current (April 2013) best way to root?

Nookmanager hands down. Especially if you're new to the whole process, it walks you through everything once you've made the SD card.

Post Remove the bloody swipe to unlock thing?

Honestly Nookmanager is so easy anyone can use it. And from there it's simple to enable this option.

    Post Screen protector

The NST doesn't need a screen protector, it really wont do much for the device, but if you really feel like spending the money for it go ahead. The NSTG already has a protector built in, putting an extra one on would be like putting on an extra pair of latex gloves. It'll offer a little more...

Post Sharing my NSTR Case recommendation

I just use a silicon shell for my NSTG. I usually keep it in a jacket pocket so I don't really need to worry about it getting jostled about. It was cheap, adds a little heft to the otherwise very light NSTG, and adds a bit of friction which makes holding the NSTG even easier.

    Post Best screen protector?

The NSTG doesn't need a screen protector, and adding one can actually cause issues, the NST only sort of suggests using one and honestly you'd be fine without one. The thin sheet of material that comprises most screen protectors wont do anything to protect the NST/G screens. But it adds...

Post Onyx Boox E43 e-ink phone

Perhaps get a states bound friend to see if they can snag one? Really though, if the screen size doesn't bother you, go with what you can get.

Post [Q] Problem Upgrading to 1.2.1

For those still having issues when using the correct firmware, try leaving your NST/G plugged in until it reboots after you've dragged the 1.2.1 firmware .zip over to it. Make sure you eject the NST/G from your computer, just leave it plugged in.

Post Onyx Boox E43 e-ink phone

I imagine you'd miss the extra screen size on the NST, dropping two inches will have a pretty big impact on how many times you'll be changing pages. You could also try and grab a NST from Radio Shack, if you can find one near you with one in stock, since they've dropped the price to 20$.

Post [Q] which micro sd to buy

You may as well get a class 6 or higher. It's not like they're pricey and they'd do a better job for you in the end. Instead of looking for the minimum of what will work, look instead for what does the job best.

Post formatted my sd card :(

There are a lot of recovery applications out there for all OS's. Just plug your SD card in to your computer and run one. Things to bear in mind, any and all writes to the SD Card decrease the chance of getting the erased data back. Removing it from anything until you're ready to try to...
