    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

    1. You'll either be working on a broken UI (lots of crashes and such) if you're device even boots to system. Otherwise it'll likely just bootloop and possibly bring you back to recovery. OOS 11 is needed as a core system for this custom ROM to function correctly. 2. Open command prompt or...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Well I botched my device after I forgot to disable passcode and removed magisk in order to update to 4/9 build from 3/28 build (which I originally flashed over A11 10/13 build). I must say after soft bricking, then factory resetting and formatting and then clean flashing oos 11 and then the...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Clean flashed 4/9 build, fantastic work. This ROM turned this phone into a much nicer UX. Too many pros to list, basically it's like a Pixel on steroids, with mostly everything ROM enthusiasts love about custom Android. Super stable, tons of useful tweaks, excellent battery life, improved haptic...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Yeah it's definitely weak at first glance, but if you play with the last three options under Vibrator, the three intensity sliders, it'll activate for a stronger vibration response. Still feels cheap and weak next to a Samsung S series or any recent flagship, but that's just the limitation of...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Glad it helped. You can also dirty flash A12 over A11, just don't forget to disable device passcode and magisk (if installed and active). May also want a force encryption disabler (FED) if you don't want to delete/disable your device security every time you need to access TWRP recovery file...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Anyone attempt to dirty flash this over Evo X Android 11? I know it's not recommended, just curious how much stuff breaks vs clean flashing Evo X 12 from scratch

Can confirm the brightness slider issue in fully expanded toggle screen. If selected to move to bottom on fully expanded toggle shade, eventually that slider will automatically default back to top position above the toggles when fully expanded.

In case anyone is wondering how to get oos 11 on both slots on OnePlus 6. Grab the latest oos update from 1+, boot your device into TWRP recovery, format data, reboot TWRP. Flash that oos 11 zip and reboot to system. Go through the initial setup, make sure usb debugging is turned on and reboot...

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

Thanks for the tip, already managed to hard brick this device and did a proper factory reset with msm tool. Took me a minute to figure out the A/B slot flashing sequence, but I believe I got it right this time with a lot of trial and error. Haven't been into flashing since Nexus 6 and Nextbit...

So it seems Adaptive Sound toggle triggers audio stuttering, perhaps it's an issue related to microphone. Simply disabling the toggle doesn't revert back to clean playback. Clearing Adaptive Sound cache and storage doesn't always resolve the issue.

    Post [ROM][12.1_r5][OFFICIAL] Evolution X 6.4 [05/22/2022]

EDIT: The following is what may happen if you flash 5.92/5.9.3 over oos 10. Clean flashed the 5.9.3 build (10/13 build enchilada) to slot B + latest official twrp (A & B), Magisk flashed to slot A. ROM is mostly smooth and very well put together, but a few issues still persist. Issues...

    Post OnePlus 6T Battery thread

If you have Google/Pixel camera app installed, that may be doing it. I personally haven't used it enough to notice, just read about it here on the op6t forums, but that's something to keep an eyeball on. Also if play services are attempting to update something from play store or even more...

    Post Screen on time

True, on a normal use I wouldn't drain it that far down, but since I was testing it for a few days, I was looking how well it's optimized, as the original PH-1 I had purchased had bad battery life, likely due to bad cell antenna and kernel or hardware issues not letting it go into deep sleep...

    Post Screen on time

Originally had bad battery life, 3-5 sot with 8-12 hours per charge cycle (100% to 1%). After 4 months of updates with Oreo and not much improvement with pie, I contacted Essential to replace my device. Got a replacement for over a week now, updated to the latest September patch of Android pie...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Sure I do, maybe your experience with it was positive, but not me and apparently I'm not alone here. OP even recommended flashing neutrino kernel over the stock one. I'm not saying stock can't be tweaked to run smoother, but personally I prefer to leave kernel settings alone/default most times...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

I think latest RR and stock firmware are too battery hungry and that no one wants to lug a charger, because you'll need one if you're out all day 8+hours. Everyone's likely either trying out this device with the stock Android P beta, other ROM like lineage os, or using something more battery and...

    Post Android O (All variants)

Hmm, looks like you're right. I guess you can try flashing the retail firmware and see what happens. You may also want to try swapping over the original ATT radio firmware files if you lose baseband with a full retail firmware flash. If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure it can be converted. I...

    Post Android O (All variants)

Wouldn't it have been easier to just get a retail model outright? The whole point of using carrier specific devices is for carrier support that you're buying the device from. As far as I know, flashing official Z2F firmware that's not tailored to your specific model designation, will either...

    Post Overall love

I definitely do, this phone's technically a successor to what used to be the Moto X series before the Z line took its place, and those had awesome third party dev support. I'm sure I'll get flashing on the Z2F once I get some free time to mod this thing. Any clue if RR is in the works for this...

    Post Overall love

It's one of those phones that got shoved under the rug the second everyone saw the battery specs on paper, myself included. My previous long term daily driver was a Nexus 6 for the most part and that was the last high end, highly customizable Android phone I've used before briefly dailying a...

Post [HOW TO] Return to stock

If you have one of those Ethernet to USB c adapters, you can plug your phone directly to the router box and go online this way, not sure if it'll help, but I know that's an option, especially when wifi and data aren't available. ---------- Post added at 12:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at...

    Post 2GB+ Files not downloading

Storage permission was granted from the get go. Opera did allow the download, so apparently there's something in the preinstalled chrome browser on this device preventing file sizes over 2gb from being downloaded, maybe something in the flags, haven't looked through those, but can confirm this...

    Thread 2GB+ Files not downloading

Hey everyone, so here's the thing, I've recently switched from Essential PH-1 to the Z2F due to poor performance with T-Mobile on Essential. I recently decided to download official TMobile Z2F firmware to look through the files, and turns out the firmware file is over 2GB in size. Every time I...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Just a quick update, op's way of installing this ROM eventually stopped deep sleeping completely and it's back to square one. It's running identically to BakedTator's way of flashing this. I'm convinced it's either a bad batch of devices or a kernel issue that hasn't gotten resolved for over a...

Post Remove " Bootloader Unlocked" Warning splash

Root your Chromebook, install Linux (xfce version recommended, it's light and runs great on a light pc like Chromebook), then boot into Linux, set it up and install Android SDK or just platform tools for Linux. It's actually a bit less work to use Android SDK/platform tools on Linux or Mac than...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

OP way suggests it, so not sure how it'll turn out if you don't. BakedTator's way doesn't require it, at least when I dirty flashed an update, every Google app worked without issues. For me, OP way runs better on battery, better deep sleep and power management. Bakedtator's way didn't do that...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Check out my post above, I detailed how to get OP's method working properly. It's actually making this phone run better than ever. You do need to first install the back to stock (no boot, no vendor, no system) zip. Flash-all file may not work automatically, but you can open it and see the manual...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

OP instructions work perfectly. I got the factory image set up and flashed manually per the flashing instructions in the flash-all.sh file. You need a ”back to stock” image accordingly matching the ROM version of Android (i.e. Android 8.1 correlates to RR 6.0.0), the build number doesn't seem to...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

I'll try that next time I flash back to RR. I'm back on stock for the time being. Seems to give much better battery life than RR. Not sure why but RR never really went into deep sleep with neutrino kernel, which is why I was going to try elemental.
  33. S

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

care to explain how you got it to work? Is it the same process as installing neutrino kernel as per BakedTator's instructions on page 24 of this thread? I've only tried dirty flashing this kernel in place of neutrino, but that didn't go so well, wound up bootlooping, so I reinstalled neutrino...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Why do you suggest flashing that OPM1.180104.092 file (it's currently up to version .166)? I've wiped my device with fastboot -w plenty of times and never installed that official firmware file before installing RR and other than device rarely ever going into deep sleep mode, it still is very...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Not sure why you're having such difficulties, but that original file isn't necessary, unless your goal is to flash back to stock Essential Android firmware. This is a custom ROM, it doesn't share much with official Essential firmware. Flashing it before flashing RR ROM may cause bootloops or a...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

You don't need the official essential firmware image unless you're flashing it back to stock out of box firmware. Download the RR 6.0.0 build 4 firmware (that's the Android 8.1 RR custom ROM) from op, grab the neutrino kernel from the neutrino thread (it's somewhere under custom kernels/ROMs...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Well I ran bbs on my PH-1 with build 4. I'm assuming it's keeping screen awake while off when certain priorities like network connection is experiencing poor signal or no signal, maybe also Bluetooth keeps it awake while music is streaming, which in itself relies on constant data or wifi usage...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

Didn't know there was RR Nougat for essential. Anyway you'll want to perform a full wipe with the fastboot -w command. You'll also need the TWRP recovery boot file, neutrino kernel boot file (if you want better performance than stock RR kernel), latest Oreo RR build, and gapps package of your...

Thanks for the links. I actually already got a clear tpu case, one they recommend at the top of the list on Amazon. Not a fan of hard plastic clear cases, those tend to scratch/scuff and turn yellow over a few months time. As for screen sensitivity, it's mostly fixed in Resurrection remix and...

Not sure, I'm flashing it now. I'll let you know if mine runs similar after I used it for a day or so. Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

I'll give it a shot, just finished clean flashing the 5/8 tester build. Works without issues, only thing that's not changed is the security patch says April 5, 2018. Oh and clean flashing it without gapps boots up with no Google apps or services preinstalled, so I had to wipe and reflash with...

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [8.1.0]

I'm prob going to wipe and flash this from scratch. What's interesting is, that if i switch active slot back to slot B, which still has build 3 installed, everything runs perfectly fine. I've tried following the update instructions from op, and it kept bootlooping, so I restored build 3 nandroid...

    Post Lock screen rotation?

You can probably, root, add that string to build.prop, reboot to make sure it's working properly, and then unroot. Haven't tried that myself as I need root enabled at all times, adaway, ampere (battery meter) and some custom features require it to be activated.

    Post Lock screen rotation?

If you have root access enabled you can enable lock screen rotation with any file manager like ES File Explorer or FX Explorer. First grant root permissions to enable access to root partition. Then head to the root partition and open the system folder. In system open build.prop file (all the way...

Not sure about the weather, but on mine, I noticed fingerprint settings are missing in security settings. And settings menu looks messy. I'll give it a look on YouTube I guess, pretty comfy with RR Oreo. Ashwin just pushed a tester May update, available to anyone willing to test it. Indeed it is, never knew they didn't include a bootloader. I'm not familiar with how Knox works, never owned a Samsung phone, but can't you just flash through fastboot and custom recovery rather than Odin? Or are Samsung devices different from other Android devices? In any case, I suspect the reason for the s9+feeling a bit slower than essential, may be...
