The difference in the scores are pretty small, and I expect and lag to be removed in the new release (doesn't mean it will be removed, but until I see otherwise I expect it to). Unless this gives a large battery boost its not worth bothering, if it does give a large boost I would give it a try.

Not for everyone, I have C6603 and the LTE option was missing when I bought it, even after a repair - it was the correct phone and correct firmware but I never had the options until the first time I put a custom rom on. It now stays even if I go back to the same stock rom.

You can load up the map and the route, and save it offline. It will then work without any data connection (and supposedly can make adjustments within reason without connection, but I have never tried this and heard it is only being tested).

I would contact them and ask, they may be more understanding than you think and ask you to send it in and have it checked and strip replaced if it is ok. Try and phone, they tend to be less scripted etc (this is UK at least, don't know for other countries Xperia helplines).

It is unique to the phone, do not flash another TA it will brick the phone potentially permanently. There may be a way of restoring BE2 in the future, it has been done on past phones, but for now you will just have to live with it and I wouldn't get your hopes up.
