Run it from the root of your pc , not from a folder

copy all the files from the unzip folder to the root of your pc. I.e copy on c drive directly . I had same issue on my windows 10 and it only worked that way

Yes you can flash 2.3 directly and then reflash 2.0 if you are not happy. Its always better to format to avoid conflict errors

I was on 2.0 . Personally i do not think that any firmware prior to that was any good. . 2.0 gave a new life to the tablet . Its not perfect but overall good 2.3 is still only a Beta. You will need to take it for what its worth - If you want to try , i also recomend the Kasty 2.3 . Otherwise...

The android.process.acore force closing is due to contact sync. This occurs as soon as you input a google account . It does not matter if you are in settings or not, it will happen intermittently every time there is a sync process. replacing the contact.provider apk does solve the issue

Yes Youtube works fine. Video playback for me is only possible with MXplayer. 4k , Archos player or stock video player read the avi, mp4 formats properly. Clearly a codec issue For the force closing see my previous post on solution.

Yes I have used it as well. it does soft rooting only though but that is good enough. I have had issues issues using the MTK flash tool with my win7 64 pc in the past . So I want to avoid bricking this excellent phone.

The lag with google store has been happening for the last 3 days and I think the issue was with the server itself. I experienced it on 3 different devices Y5, V5 3g and tablet. Seems much better this morning.
