I actually fixed it by starting the command line and using vi to edit the /usr/bin/startvnc file, changed the resolution then exported the USER=root, I then used the command startvnc and it worked fine. Ui however did not work at all.

I had the same issue with both the power button and the volume with my TB and I called 611 and told them. I have TEC and they over night a replacement. I unrooted when I got the replacement and sent my broken one back. Just call them. They will replace it.
