It is possible but complex process over apx mode using nvflash and it's not possible using fdisk or parted since bootloader locks gpt.

That's on the ROM side, we aren't developing the ROM itself, we are fitting the device in the ROM, essentially in aosp since all other ROMs are based on aosp. So, if you are using aosp, blame google on that.
