Post How to stop apps getting killed when switching

It was the default setting, i.e. average. HM ok good to know. It's happening quite often when listening to the Economist too. Which is really bull****, it should treat it as audio playing. Why would Android kill your music.

Thread How to stop apps getting killed when switching

I can live with the Nexus 5X' relative sluggishness when compared to the Nexus 5, but what really stops me from doing my work is the phone killing apps when I switch between them. Example: I may be filling out a form on a website in Firefox for Android. I need to look up a word in the...

    Post Unofficial Cyanogenmod12.1 for Mi-4c

Got the Nexus 5X because not satisfied with the Mi4c's camera. God how I wish they made a merger of both phones. The size, battery life, speed of the 4c with the camera, the fingerprint reader, and the fast charge of the 5X. Because the 5X is really quite slow when multitasking, and battery...

So yesterday I had about 6 hours of screen on time, and it was off the mains from 8:30 am to 1 am, i.e. 14.5 hours. Three to four hours of 3G, half an hour of GPS tracking, and otherwise mainly chatting and browsing and using a few apps. This beat my every expectation, my previous phones would...

Post Installing MIUI original apps on Cyanogenmod

So I wonder why, for instance, I cannot install the Xiaomi Music app onto my Cyanogenmod. It says app not installed after I download it from the Mi Appstore. Is it missing a framework or something? Or does it just check whether it's in the MIUI environment and bails if it's not?

Interesting! But it didn't work: the keys are still active. I didn't do SuperSu though I doubt that would change anything. Maybe try it again. I also notice the problems with Bluetooth. I assume you also use the Mi band to unlock your phone? Works fine (but at a distance longer than with MIUI, which is annoying), but sometimes it completely stops...

Post Mi4c Camera issues (blurry in low/fluorescent light)

agreed, it got significantly better with the CM rom. Still fairly noisy and a little blurry though. Looks like the camera app (I use Google Camera 4.0) actually takes its time to focus rather than attempting to deliver the quickest shot possible.

I installed TWRP, wiped, flashed the ROM. Rebooted, flashed Gapps, wiped again, rebooted. Someone said I shouldn't flash ROM and Gapps at the same time for fear of a bootloop. Doesn't make sense to me but I didn't take any risks

Thread Installing MIUI original apps on Cyanogenmod

Is it possible to install MIUI original apps on Cyanogenmod or any other phone/OS? Living in China, backing up to the Mi Cloud is easier than to syncing with Google, as it does not require switching on the VPN and thus does not drain the battery waiting for a VPN connection and gets generally...

Post Mi4c Camera issues (blurry in low/fluorescent light)

Sure, steadying the phone entirely will work. But that's not really a solution, as you often take a quick snap, the device is light and therefore in almost all situations your hand will be unsteady. It felt like the nexus5 was able to use shorter shutter times in low-light conditions and took...

After purchasing the Mi4c and waiting for it for three weeks, I keenly unboxed it and started tweaking the living hell out of it. Post Which camera sensor? Sony or Samsung

Does looking for files make sense? Since the OS comes for phones with either sensor, it's likely to have drivers onboard for both devices, or am I wrong? The dmesg seems more sensible, but I'm not getting any useful info out of it.

I don't agree. The app specifically tells you where to aim. If it takes a long time to process each picture (a bit over a second) and if the result is erroneously stitched together, then I am not to blame, but the app is. Or perhaps how the app works on this version of cm. Also, you can easily...
