Thanks for the response. It gets stuck in the CyanogenMod boot animation. I did try booting into TWRP with the button combination but there's an error which I will type out below. I believe I had one of the newer version of TWRP (at least 2.7 or 2.8 though I don't know off the top of my head)...

So I tried to flash this and ended up stuck in a bootloop and I can't seem to get back into TWRP. Things I flashed in order: bootloader (included in this thread) > rom > gapps > supersu Any suggestions for getting out of the bootloop or reflashing TWRP or is it easiest to just revert...

I don't know if you can get the default LG dock but you can do almost anything with the Google Now Launcher or Nova Launcher. I personally use Nova to customize everything.

So someone in the main thread said something about getting the IR Blaster and Remote working on CM12? How does one do this? I severely miss QRemote on Lollipop.

That is because XMG does not yet support the ART runtime which was first introduced as an option in KitKat 4.4.4 and is the only runtime available now in Lollipop 5.0

I tested the Smart Cover. It is working great! The QuickCircle features are still not here but I believe that was proprietary LG and so won't be ported in CyanogenMod. Though if anyone knows how to get it working anyway or knows how to get QRemote working I would love to hear how!

I got tricked by this. I saw a 12/9 nightly in the CM Update section of About Phone and tried to flash it. I think it was CM11 because it completely destroyed my install. I had to wipe and clean flash the actual 12/9 build because dirty flashing wouldn't fix it. RIP wish I had made a backup...

I was able to get QuickRemote to launch however there were no devices listed to add remotes for. Do you know if this is a bug in the program?

Just flashed yesterday and it is working great so far! However I was not able to find any of the Smart Locking settings under Security that I am able to access on my G3 which is running CM12. Any suggestions or has that feature not been added yet? Thanks!

Flashed a few days ago and things have been working pretty well though there are a few issues I have noticed. I have a strange issue with knock-on where after every reboot knock-on stops working and I have to go into settings and disable/re-enable the setting in order to get it to work again...

Fistly, CyanogenMod 11 is not yet compatible with the G3. Secondly, that is a port FROM the G3 TO the G2 (NOT the G Pad 8.3). So I wouldn't try flashing it to a Gpad. If it work though, then great! But I doubt it will and I don't feel like risking my gpad on trying to flash something for the G2.

That let's you use it from the lock screen, the screen still has to be on. The OP was looking for something that would do it with the screen off. I am sure tasker can do this though I have yet to try it myself.

I tried this on my using CM11 several months ago and it did not work. I can try again to see if switching to AOKP and a newer things help at all, but I would be inclined to doubt it.

Part of the issue here is that It looks like the GPad only has an IR transmitter and no receiver. This means that unlike the G2 the GPad would have not have the capability to learn codes. However I may be wrong.

Do you leave the cover open just hanging off the side or do you flip it all the way around behind? Since the magnet and sensor are on the side where the fold is I have found I have to flip it all the way around behind the tablet to keep the screen off from being triggered. Yeah it was weird in magnet unlocker I had higher values for open than closed. But I got it working perfectly in tasker, so thank a million! And I have no idea if my cover works on stock because I bought the cover after I put cm11 on it. These should not impact your battery life too much...

A few people have spoken to LG about this and they currently have no plans to update the stock ROM to 4.4.2. Your best bet would be to root and flash it.

Try going into about phone/tablet and clicking hardware information. Between 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 they reorganized the settings menu a bit. I told you to look in the spot for 4.4.2. My apologies.

When disabled it will lock it into portrait because that is the default orientation of the tablet. That is a feature that is to be expected. But when enabled you can freely rotate the lock screen any way that you have the main screen set to be able to rotate to.

Have you tried installing Chrome from the play store? It will of course sync and should work just fine. Otherwise post the Mahdi thread about your issue with dolphin.

This is still a work in progress. It works for some, not others. Currently if you flash the app in it will get deleted each time you update CM11. Even so, It does not support very many TV's.

You can enable rotation in the lock screen by going to settings -> Display -> Rotation -> And checking enable auto-rotation and rotate the lock screen.

The screen resolution for the gpad is 1920x1200. Any wallpaper this size will fit perfectly. There are also a lot of apps that let you download and setup wallpapers.

So a follow up with this, I was able to get a script working. I don't know if this feature is unique to cyanogenmod or not but any script in /system/addon.d will execute itself during a rom install and be restored automatically if it was wiped. So using 50-cm.sh as an example I made a script...

On mine there is s sticker on the back with this information. You can also go into Settings -> About Tablet -> Status. and you can see the serial number there.

The link the OP gave for Qremote works for some and not for others. It didn't work for me but I can't tell if there were no tv's that worked for mine or the it blaster itself wasn't working. But I know that is not a sure solution.

309 Here and yes I have the bleed but it doesn't bother me because most of the time my black nav buttons are there. Only really noticeable when you have only white.

These apps rely on proximity sensors (which this tab doesn't have) or light sensors which are extremely inaccurate. So while they can sometimes work they usually don't. A simple change in the ambient light will turn your screen on or off. I think we just have to keep waiting and hoping that...

I can officially vouch for that NOT working. Tried it on my G Pad and the installers ran into errors everywhere with the LGQRemote.apk. I even tried flashing it but it didn't show up in the apps so I assume it failed.

I have been trying to fix the issue with Rom updates and link2sd. You have to provide the Rom (in my case cyanogenmod) a backup script so it can back up the files. I am planning on figuring it out at some point but if you get it before I do would you mind posting your script? Thanks! Sent from...

If you are on stock rom it should work out of the box. If you are on a custom rom like cyanogenmod or others use this guide. Works great. Got it working on my gpad using it.

The non GPE comes with it stock unless you put a custom Rom on it.

Which version of the tablet do you have? LG Edition (v500) or the Google Play Edition (v510). The GPE is known to have comparability issues with microSD cards. I would suggest rooting and installing a custom ROM if you have the GPE. If you have the LGE everything should work out of the box...
