Post Inquiry to join up with fellow Moto Z / Z Force owners (Verizon) to work on root.

The new use after free exploit should work on the Moto Z Verizon version. There's a proof of concept posted, it would be worth the while to check.

Post [KERNEL] (Development) Linux 4.x for the OUYA.

So I did get this pretty well working, though I haven't touched it in a while. The work is continuing over at PostmarketOS, and their support is shaping up quite nicely as Dmitry's Tegra video driver matures. The eMMC issues were resolved, and now with the embedded memory controller driver...

This is the first release of the Linux-next kernel for the Ouya. **** DANGER! DRAGONS AHEAD! **** This has been tested on one device only (mine). It may cause your device to melt or become sentient. I hold no warranty or liability should you decide to use this! It supports the Kickstarter...

Post [KERNEL] (Development) Linux 4.x for the OUYA.

Short Answer: Yes and No. Long Answer: The Switch is light years ahead of the Ouya in terms of the SOC, but there are similarities. Any development on the Linux kernel for Tegra devices helps. Unfortunately we likely won't be able to break into the Ouya the same way, since so few of the IO pins...

Thread [KERNEL] (Development) Linux 4.x for the OUYA.

THIS WILL LIKELY KILL YOUR OUYA We provide no warranty to the work here, it will likely cause your OUYA to die if you attempt it. So myself and another fellow are working on bringing the latest and greatest Linux Kernel to the OUYA. The good news: It boots to command line. The bad news: That's...

    Post [DEV] CM7 Developers Thread

Video Decoding I tested a video file with the audio stripped out, 640x480 768kbps bitrate H264. Plays smooth as butter, attempted the same video using different audio formats, all have the choppy framerate. Will continue trying different formats.

    Post [DEV] CM7 Developers Thread

Verified this as well, Video is smooth as butter as long as the Nook is pushing audio over Bluetooth. As I moved the Nook away from my Computer, the audio became choppy and the framerate dropped to exactly the same speed as the choppy audio. Looks like audio sync could be the cause of our...

    Post diablo port for android?

WINE works by simply placing the Windows API on top of the Linux API, the processor still handles all the code natively. Since your phone uses an ARM rather then a x86 based processor, it wouldn't have a clue how to handle x86 code. You need something like dosbox that emulates the whole...

    Post Kernel question

You sure can, pull the boot.img and reflash it, but I would suggest you just Nandroid backup, that way if you do not like the kernel you can just change back. I have had great success using different kernels fixing the wifi issue with the new driver.

    Post [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

Indeed, I use the first time stamped version, I see no reason to update yet as all of the updates were for increasing support on different phones, but I do keep track of the thread and I believe I promised five bucks for the person who developed this.

    Post [Kernel] [.38.8] intersectRaven's Kernel (AVS/CAVS)01/08/2011 22:00

I have the same problem on CM6 - RC2 in dmesg I get (w1_iw_iscan_set_scan: Scan from SIOCGIWSCAN not supported), as well as "AVS setting V to -22428 mV @0MHz" every .06 seconds or so.

    Post [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

Under most circumstances yes, but I have a power supply capable of providing 1.5 amps to the phone, if the widget doesn't take that into account it would give some seriously wacked out usage readings.

    Post [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

It would appear current_now updates from dmesg, and it wouldn't make sense for the file to update every second, as that would pull a lot of extra cpu cycles, a 30 second to one minute update time is good for both accuracy and battery life.
  35. P

    Post [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

current_now shows the current going in or out of the battery, if it is plugged in, current_now will show a positive value as long as your phone isnt pulling more power then your power supply can provide. When it isn't plugged in it will show a negative number because the phone is pulling power...

The LED would not provide a very accurate representation of current draw, A widget could provide Current, Voltage, Temperature.

Parsing messages from dmesg about the battery would allow the widget to provide A LOT more information about your battery state, sweet!

    Post [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

It displays total current to/from the battery, - means it is discharging the battery, + means it is charging the battery, so if you have a - while charging it means you are pulling more power then your power supply can provide.

    Thread [IDEA] Power Draw Widget

Could someone build a widget to loop the "cat sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_now" script every 30 seconds or so and display the results in the widget? This could give you an accurate idea of how much power your phone is using regularly. UPDATE rm9 has made a widget off this idea, he...
