Fastboot oem lock if you have the proper stuff installed or you can use my shield setup if you want. However it serves absolutely no purpose, it does not reset the warranty flag.

depends on what you did to your shield. The easiest way to do it Imo tho is you use the system restore option that doesn't wipe data and then you can take update.

I realize that but Keep trying there's a two button combo to get the RECOVERY MENU to show up. If you can't get it I'll go get my shield and flash the stock recovery so i can figure it out.

That's supposed to happen.you need to press home and back I believe to get the menu to pop up. might not be those buttons but there is a button combination to get it to popup.

That's happened to me before.have you tried leaving it off for a few minutes and then restarting it. maybe try while its on the charger.If that doesn't solve it I would attempt to boot into stock recovery and perform a FDR. either way someone will get you back up and running again.

Youre good to go you can use it on any version of firmware for the shield. I just paclaged 4.2.2 with it because of all the people that wantes to stay on 68

You dont have to flash all the files actually, only if youre doing a full system wipe. IMO I think that its easier to do it thru adb and nvidia includes a batch file to flash them as well. And its alot faster too actually. But then again ive only taken one ota, after that i made my own installer...

Nope download and install it and then use the unroot feature. Its pretty straight forward. No worries either we all have to start somewhere.

I would use supersu to do a full unroot. Update then re root, but thats me. You should be able to as long as you dont have a custom recovery but root would be removed during the update so you might as well just go the supersu route.

Im pretty sure rooting any device voids the warranty considering youre modifying system software. Nvidia is good about replacing them if youre within the year time period from the warranty. I sent mine rooted and unlocked and they didnt say a thing.

Sounds like you flashed regular old cwm, which wont work. There is a ported compatible version in the dev section.

Theres no need. Nvidia openly lets users root their shields.

Relocking the bootloader does not reset the warranty flag. It will still show its been tripped. However you have a year and nvidia doesnt care if its rooted or unlocked if you need to rma it. As long as you dont try running a custom overclocked kernel and then fry the cpu, they will warranty it...

You dont need to back them up. Theyre on a "pre install" partition so after a factory data reset and reboot theyll get reinstalled.
