No idea. Don't think dev himself has much of a clue about it. Here's a trick that sort of works for me. Lock the tablet before plugging in the cable, then unlock the tablet after plugging in the cable & then put it down & let it keep on charging.

I'll try that method. It worked on Oneplus One without any issue since it's been, as you mentioned, already modified. Might have done that for this device as well.

I'm using official Lineage OS 14.1 nightly ROM with Magisk for root. Is it not compatible with Magisk? HatchetEgg has also mentioned 3 posts earlier that it's bootlooping on Lineage OS 14.1.

You need to download an app called "Screen Off & Lock" by Katecca from Play Store. Then open it & you'll be asked for Device Admin privilege. Then select that app through Nova Double Tap gesture settings.

Asus got to be the ****tiest Nexus OEM by far. It seems like every second guy is having some sorts of issue. Their quality control is almost non existent. People thought first gen Nexus 7 was problematic, but only Asus could have managed to screw up the second generation Nexus 7 as they did.
