Are you on kitkat, or did you update to lollipop? It's a known bug on lollipop and factory reset should solve it. Other people on this forum also claims that simply buying a new charger did the work.

In this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445621 you can find full 2.3.6 GRK39F (do not use C, buggy release), it's also flashable via stock recovery (just rename to update.zip or use recovery menu). I used it couple of days ago, and it worked great.

You installed a NS4G rom, for the sprint (CDMA) version. You should try to install the GSM version (notice the forum you are downloading the rom from). If it doesn't help, try to flash an appropriate radio for your device, such as XXKI1.

and on the other hand, every gsm version of the nexus s should work fine in the uk.

You should see if your phone is set to wcdma/gsm mode. My room is a inner room also and when it loses 3g signal, it jumps automatically to gsm mode (internet speed is not an issue, WI-FI FTW :)).

It had nothing to do with root, if he is talking about the OTA update. I guess that the reason you can't update is because you have 2.3.4. you can update manually to 2.3.6 (you can find the link in one of the stickies), or maybe force update (*#*#2432546#*#*).

i think (and it's making sense) that you can't activate cdma on a gsm only device.. however, WCDMA is another name for 3g. wcdma/gsm means that the phone will prefer 3g networks over 2g but if it can't find 3g network, it will use 2g), wcdma only will make the phone connect only to 3g networks.

This question should be in Q&A section. Anyway, it is very simple - use rom manager (or an old backup that you night had created) to install the official rom OR flash some custom rom from the android development section.

so you probably have I9020T, AFAIK this was the first release, followed by the I9023 and I9020A (not necessarily in this order).

There was hebrew pre-installed on my 9020A that came with 2.3.4, however there was this rtl issue.. now I'm with costume ICS rom and it's working like a charm without any rtl fix or what so ever, and the new font is awesome!
