And the phone is $300 or $350 off contract... seems like a no brainer despite the cap that is the G2X.

I would... I had one briefly but the damn speaker was messed up. If I could find one for a deal I would get rid of the g2x without a doubt. This phone has been nothing but problems since day 1.

The nexus phones were from google, the windows phone was used, so i sent it back. I guess ill just stick with the g2x for another 10 months like i agreed to lol

Not hard on them at all... I am still using my original G2x. Both Nexus phones I received had bad screens out of the box and the Windows phone came with a messed up speaker. It just seems like I can't get away from this phone.

Yeah i had to do the manual update since the ota didn't work (not sure if my root had anything to do with it) and so far so good. The screen was faded badly from right to left on the first phone and top to bottom on the second.

Well I ordered the Nexus and the original one had issuses with the screen so I returned it for a replacement. The second one had the same issue and when I tried to get it replaced (within 14 days of receiving the new phone) I was told that Samsung will only let me send it in for warranty work...

Well I got my replacement today and so far it looks to be pretty good... Maybe just a hair lighter on the left, but if that's all I find I think I'll just roll with it.

Yeah, I'm calling tomorrow morning. I guess I'll look for a number for samsung in my booklet.

I called good and all the automated message just said "contact the retailer" or something and hung up on me :/

Those of you who sent the phones back, what numbers did you call? I tried google and they said to contact the manufacturer, and the booklet says to bring it back to the retailer. So before I make a mistake thing to the wrong people and screwing myself, I figure I'd ask.

Well I just took some screen shots on my phone and it doesn't show the fade when I view the pics on my iPad, so it's definitely a screen issue. Now I need to determine if it's worth the risk of getting one that is awful.

That's for testing it out for me. I went ahead and ordered it and I guess I'll figure out something to put in there until I decided to get a new battery. Maybe a piece of poster board a piece of a thirty. I'll figure something out. Thanks again!

Just got my Nexus and as far as I can tell there is no banding, black spots or dead pixels... BUT (as said before in this thread there is always a but) It looks like the right side of the screen is brighter than the left. The brightness is even all the way down the right side and it gets darker...

Got my Nexus yesterday and its pretty awesome. And to the devs and helpful people here on the g2x forums, thanks for all the help and roms!

My Nexus will be here this afternoon, so I imagine my g2x will finally get the OTA about 30 minutes before the delivery of the new phone.

I told myself that if my g2x got the ota update by the time I was ready to order, I would keep the g2x. No update so I just hit complete order. Can't wait!

Anyone with Tmobile have this issue? Is it as simple as putting a sim card in the phone to get it to work on Tmobile?

Once my new credit card is delivered (no interest for 15 months) I will order this phone. The card is supposed to be here sometime between today and Wednesday and I CAN'T wait!

I've had it try to download the update twice on two separate days and both times it failed. It's been about 3 days of saying the current version thing. It's bs and it's just another reason I'm going to order the nexus early next week.
