Switch to pushmail, saves you quite some data transfers and is more effective in the end. I have two hotmail addresses plus oen gmail on pushmail and I don't notice any more battery drain with data connection permanently on.

I'd say my Sensation on stock ROM consumes about 5% during the night, that's about 8 hours in my case. The battery is 1580 mah. So 5% of 1580 would be 79 mah. Divide that by 8 hours and you get about 10ma standby drain.

Happens to me all the time when in landscape. Seems to work fine in portrait however, even though it is actually 3 or 4 chars to the right of the actual position... Annoying!

For question 5, an alternative to Tasker would be PhoneWeaver by SBSH. I think it's quite good, but there is still room for improvement. Another possibility that I personally don't like is LAMA. Yet another possibility is Locale. I haven't tried it yet, and I think it's gonna be quite expensive...

Interesting idea, push mail doesn't work for my device at all while using WiFi. But are you sure that push mail actually causes the server to establish a connection to you? I thought you establish the connection yourself and simply keep it alive until the server decides to send you some data...

You'll have to wait for HTC to unlock the bootloader (or for AlphaRev to do that before HTC). Expect HTC do provide the full unlock in September. PS. I bought it unbranded meanwhile.

HTC is actually UNLOCKING the bootloader, not trying to lock the phone. Wait for 2 months for that to have happened. Rejoice if AlphaRev is earlier, if you want.

SAR level is not very informative. If corresponds to the PEAK value measured, not the average. If a phone transmits at 0.1W/kg for an hour and for 1 second, for whatever reason, jumps to 10W/kg, then the SAR will be 10. Not really appropriate, is it?

The phone is necessarily branded if you see any sign of your provider anywhere, unless that sign comes from your SIM. But this is obviously not the case for the shutdown-screen.

I only have the general Mail icon, not a shortcut to an individual Inbox since I'm using only one Emailaddress on my mobile. That Icon shows the number of unread messages. Not sure if that's what you'd want, it would probably show you the sum of unread messages form both accounts.
