Post [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.2 Nougat for Galaxy Tab 8.9

My guess is this: Google "sunsetted" ICS about two years ago, they probably got an update that hits the Neon functions and doesn't work with the emulation. ICS was (IIRC) the last release that officially allowed non-NEON processors

    Post [ROM][T320][T325][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 17.1 | Android 10.0 Q 20201220

I have the latest on my 8.4 and it lasts for a week or so with light use. As good or better than the Resurrection Remix N that preceded it. Very good response and few bugs, and having camera working again is nice. Can't remember if I have tried MTP yet though. Thank you Valera1978!

Post Out of curiosity, how many of these do you think are still in service?

It's because the list function is based on each individual character parsed from left to right rather than having a concept of "place value" for the number characters - so 1 is less than 2, and 9 is less than "a", etc.

Post [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.2 Nougat for Galaxy Tab 8.9

Make sure you turn off auto-updates or you will get an update somewhere that doesn't like the Tegra 2.

Post [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.2 Nougat for Galaxy Tab 8.9

How about if you install TWRP-3 from within TWRP-2.7.1? It's been a while so I'm having trouble remembering the exact sequence I did, but I think it did involve 2 different TWRP versions. Edit - that looks like what I did. I looked back at my P5 archive and it has...

Any reason you're not using the TWRP- 3.0 that detcaf recommends? https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-8-9/development/dev-testing-twrp-galaxy-tab-8-9-p7310-t3469987

I have a espressowifi currently running Andi's 6/2020 Marshmallow build (thanks, Andi!). Seems to work pretty well. Used to have an older UA 7.1.2 on it and did notice the lagginess.

Post CM 14.1 for Nook Tablet (acclaim) - 16GB model only - UNOFFICIAL

It is not CM14.1 or Lineage 14.1, but I have Unlegacy Android on mine, and poking around on their page it looks like they have a build of 7.1.2 current to 6/2020. I'm going to update mine. It isn't the fastest thing, but nice to have current security patches and API. Page is at...

Post [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.2 Nougat for Galaxy Tab 8.9

You're not doing anything wrong. The tablet is from 2011, and it wasn't super high end even then. You're running 2017-era software on a machine with a dual-core 1GHz processor and a gigabyte of RAM. It will be slow. Things crash because the Tegra2 doesn't have NEON SIMD instructions, and Google...

Post How do make Galaxy S3 usable? (2019, Latest ROM, rooting, etc - new user)

Anyone have a link to the Carbon ROM? Does Marshmallow or Lollipop run better on these (and if so does anyone know of a built ROM, preferably post-KRACK Marshmallow)? Seems that restarts and camera problems are endemic to Nougat so I was wondering. Just given a S3 with the stock 4.3 and was...

Post [HOW-TO] Installing AOSP Android 7.0 "Nougat" Internally on the 16 GB Nook Tablet

It's something peculiar to the Nook touchscreen (and don't know if it extends to the HD or not). I have an Amazon Tate and Samsung Galaxy Pro Mondrian with TWRP and it works just fine on those.

Post [HOW-TO] Installing AOSP Android 7.0 "Nougat" Internally on the 16 GB Nook Tablet

I was able to do this with the unlegacy Android build. It was a bit of a blind crawl - I used the repartition script then formatted and installed the UA build, but in the latest versions I didn't have space for even Pico. Turns out the install was putting in a smaller-than-partition sized...

    Post [ROM][4.3.1/4.4.4][P7300/P7310][PORT] CM 10.2&11.0 / SGT7 [Feb-23/Jul-17] LAST UPDATE

Got a couple of p5wifi tablets that are now significantly less usable with Google's cut-off of services to ICS. Noticed that the CM10.3 download is broken - does anyone have a link or a recommendation to a Jellybean/KitKat distro and gapps that works well on the p5wifi? These are for kids, and I...

Post Lineage archive for devices with support dropped

I figured that, but they have occasional notes in the updates about why support is being dropped, and if it is some variant of "we can't get drivers anymore" or "new version of Android will not work with hardware X without major rewrite" I figure it's probably outside of my league. If it's...

Post [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.2 Nougat for Galaxy Tab 8.9

Is there a list of the files you use? I'd like to try and merge in the later security patches (especially KRACK, bluetooth and the biggies such as that), but when I went to the cited page the repos seemed to be for similar but not the same devices (p4 if I recall). Any hints on what patches...

Thread Lineage archive for devices with support dropped

I wasn't sure how to send questions to the official LineageOS people, so guess I post here and hope it makes its way over. I have many old devices and no new ones, these include some that are no longer supported by LineageOS (Samsug Galaxy Tab 2.0 7", "Tate" Kindle, LG G3 "985" ...) My question...
