Well, followed the guide from homersp here on xda like before except I had to use adb shell to enable diag mode. After that, ran all commands in my win10 VM and was able to get VoLTE and WIFI calling (with correct icon). All is working correctly.

Upgraded to Android 11 on zenfone 6 and now do not have VoLTE. Wifi calling works but doesn't show it's a wifi call anymore. Unable to follow guide again as AsusVoLTE cannot detect that I'm rooted thus not allowing tools to work. What a time to lose VoLTE which non VoLTE devices getting kicked...

Weirdly enough I had to flash both boot_a and boot_b twice to acquire root. Did it twice hoping one of the firmwares released was actually different but they just removed and re-added as tw and ww instead of tw (ww). So yeah, root is now no problem but still no VoLTE. Yikes!

Heh thanks. Guess I wasn't on beta version yet. Now to get volte working like it was with android 10... asusvolte still asks if I'm rooted.

Yup. Every time I answer a call without Bluetooth or wired headphones, I have to tell people to hang on a minute while I do the toggle so the whole world doesn't hear them.

It's been that way for me on stock for awhile now. Super annoying to switch to speaker and back to earpiece to fix. Only happens on incoming calls.

Custom ROMs didn't allow it to work on TMobile either. Glad some can actually use it though.

Does it really work though? After doing this, it refuses to make a call if you say wifi calling only which makes me think it still needs the mobile carrier to have a signal for calls. Service is t-mobile fyi.

I've found the same to be true for me. Wi-Fi connection prevents calls from coming in. I can dial out just fine. This is extremely strange since this phone is not even Wi-Fi calling certified and it's not even a feature. This has been my biggest issue with the phone so far because you never know...

Are you sure wifi calling is actually working? I enabled it but I don't see that the call is a wifi call and also if I turn it to wifi only calling I get a mobile network not available message and the call fails. These are my two biggest reasons for going with custom rom over stock. I too am on...

Tried and so far, nothing stops my phone from dropping to 3g when making a call. Also, some of these changes cause speedtest.net app to think I'm about 5 states away from where I actually am. Switching back, it puts closest server back to Indiana.....

When I make these changes it still drops me to 3G on calls. Not sure what the deal is really. Was hoping for 4g/calls at the same time. :)

Comcast was at fault. Downloaded the file over vzw and was perfect. Thanks for the suggestions. Also side note, comcast has been at fault for my cod ghosts map packs failing I believe.

ugghhh I too need a non-screwed PIT because I think something's wrong with mine. One day it just failed to save files. Flashed the one ROM I could find but it has issues downloading from market for me so I think partitions are messed.
