Is it possible to change the bootlogo on this device? Not the boot animation, but the simple white-on-black text logo that appears when you push the power button. I didn't find instructions anywhere and I also couldn't locate the bootlogo file using Root Explorer... Help appreciated, thx.

Incorrect. I solved it myself. I restored some backed up system apps + data, that were related to the data connection, using Titanium Backup. And, problem solved. The problem must have been that some data got corrupted somehow, and restoring that data fixed the problem.

As I said I do not wish to update to 6, especially for a "maybe." Surely there's another thing to try, and I'll appreciate any suggestions along those lines. Thanks.

I flashed 2.8.7.0, but phone wouldn't boot into recovery. So I flashed 2.8.6.5 universal, which allows me to boot into recovery. When I choose "Reboot," I am given the option to root my device. I swipe to install, the process bar shows up, then the phone reboots and... NOTHING. Still not rooted...

I love this device, it's my favorite Nokia yet. But I quite dislike its camera. So when I want great photos I take along my Nokia 808.

I only get Edge network too, with T-Mobile USA. I think maybe your carrier, like mine, doesn't support the same frequencies used by the X2DS? I don't like Edge network either, but sometimes you have to take the good with the bad.

Two of the widgets on my home screen freeze (stop updating) once a day. This never happened on any of my previous Android phones. I have to reboot to get them running again. I use Text Memo Widget by Mio. It's the best one because it's free, small file size, simple, no ads, etc.

OK, got it working. :) I had to connect the X2 to a different computer for fastboot to recognize it. So if anyone makes the mistake I did and writes CWM before unlocking bootloader, that's how you can solve it. Yay, CWM is here. Excellent. Thanks guys. :D

I have also tried flashing CWM using the Flashify app. Again, process is reported as a success. But, when rebooting to recovery mode the phone is stuck at the Nokia logo. And bootloader mode is no longer recognized by fastboot on PC. Some help would be very appreciated, thanks.
