Elrondolio, changing the router config doesn't work since the values are hardcoded on the device like the Chromecast is. I'm already well aware of using a service similar to AdFreeTime. I think that a file needs to change on the NP, but I'm not sure what. That is what hasamoder is referring to.

I was not able to get that to work. I had to use the little left/right mouse buttons to select something.

I'd love more info on this option. I did some quick searching and I see people mentioning it but no one explaining what needs to be done. I'm fairly confident in my abilities to modify files and really just need to know what I need to edit.

It works for the current screen. You can't use it to scroll up/down but you can use it to select items on the current screen. Does that make sense?

If I'm reading the script correctly, it doesn't install TWRP for the Nexus Player yet. Other than that, I like the simplicity of this.

I've tested a Rii RT-MWK02 Mini Wireless Keyboard and it seems to work fine via Bluetooth - http://www.amazon.com/Rii-RT-MWK02-Wireless-Keyboard-Pointer/dp/B00BVZZG0C I haven't done extensive testing but it does work.

OTG cable arrived. First of two Chromecasts has been rooted. Second will be done when I get home tonight. A big thank you to fail0verflow, GTVHacker, and Team-Eureka for working on this. I thought we would never see rooted Chromecasts again.

I bet that once the exploit is released, the small Chromecast community will help each other out with rooting devices. My OTG cable and Teensy have just shipped and I would consider rooting devices for people if they paid for shipping.

Best news I've heard in a while! I'm going to pick up a second Chromecast tonight. I've also ordered my powered OTG cable and Teensy to get ready.

I am anxiously, but patiently awaiting my Nexus 7 32gb black. I ordered it on November 4th and the estimated shipping date is Dec 4th. I am leaving iOS land for Android after becoming quite comfortable with my Nexus 7.
