I'm sorry, I just read your first post and how you tried disabling H/W Overlays.... lol. My bad. What about if you try a older version of the APK or try wiping the app data for both mx player and for crunchyroll? I don't use crunchy roll so I'm just throwing out ideas. Hope something helps.

Yes Kodi works great on this rom. The Rom Can handle all kinds of video inputs. I'm not sure what you're asking but it also has the casting feature built in. Haven't had any problems playing any file (usually through kodi) Never tried CEC feature. Recommend the OP's app called droidMote...

I haven't installed v1.3 but last night when I did 1.2 thats the way I did it, just reinstalled boot.img, system.img, wiped, then root.img. It was all fresh but I think it was worth it to make sure you're starting without any issues. Was quickly able to get everything back up and installed...
